INDAY Introduce
In the vibrant and fast-paced culinary scene of New York City, a restaurant that can offer a fresh, healthy, and quick meal without sacrificing flavor is a true find. INDAY, an Indian-inspired eatery, has carved out a special niche in Midtown East by doing just that. Located on 3rd Avenue, this restaurant moves away from the traditional sit-down Indian dining experience and presents a modern, fast-casual concept centered around customizable bowls. Their mission, to make “India every day,” is reflected in their menu which blends ancient Indian culinary philosophies with the needs of contemporary urban life. For New Yorkers seeking a wholesome, convenient, and flavorful meal, INDAY offers a compelling alternative to typical fast-food options. This article will delve into the unique offerings and atmosphere of INDAY, providing a detailed overview for locals looking for a new go-to lunch spot.
The core concept of INDAY is "Indian-inspired" food that is both healthy and vibrant. The restaurant is built around the idea of "good karma," believing that how your food is sourced and prepared directly impacts how you feel. This philosophy is evident in their menu, which is entirely gluten-free and features a range of carefully curated bowls and sides. Their signature bowls, such as the Chicken Tikka Masala Bowl and the Chickpea Curry Bowl, are the stars of the show, offering well-spiced dishes with the right sides to create a complete and satisfying meal. For those who want more control, the "Build Your Own Bowl" option allows for full customization, a popular choice that lets diners create a meal tailored to their exact preferences and dietary needs, including vegan options. The menu also includes classic Indian sides and snacks like Samosas and Naan, along with refreshing house-made drinks like Mango Lassi and Turmeric Lemonade.
INDAY’s location at 708 3rd Ave, New York, NY 10017, places it in a high-traffic area of Midtown East. It's a convenient spot for office workers, tourists, and locals alike, being easily accessible from major subway lines and bus routes. The proximity to Grand Central Terminal makes it an ideal stop for a quick lunch before heading back to the office or a healthy meal to fuel your day of sightseeing. While paid street parking is available, it can be a challenge to find a spot in this busy part of the city, making public transportation or walking the most efficient ways to get there.
It is important for potential customers to note that while some INDAY locations may have seating, this particular store is quite small with limited or no seating, making it primarily a takeout-focused establishment. As noted in a customer review, it's often best to plan on taking your food to go. This "takeout-first" model contributes to the restaurant's fast service, a highlight that many customers appreciate, especially during the busy lunch rush.
Services Offered:
- Takeout: INDAY is primarily a takeout-only location, with all meals prepared for quick and convenient pickup.
- Delivery: The restaurant offers delivery services, partnering with platforms to bring their healthy bowls and curries directly to your home or office.
- Dine-in: Seating is very limited or non-existent, so it's not the ideal spot for a leisurely sit-down meal. The emphasis is on fast, counter-style service.
Features and Highlights:
- Healthy and Fresh Options: The menu is designed with health in mind, offering bowls with a good balance of nutrition, flavor, and variety. The ingredients are often described as fresh and high-quality.
- 100% Gluten-Free Menu: This is a significant highlight for those with dietary restrictions. The entire menu is gluten-free, providing a safe and worry-free dining experience.
- Customizable Bowls: The "Build Your Own Bowl" option is a major draw, allowing customers to choose their base, protein, sides, and sauces, providing maximum flexibility and ensuring a meal tailored to their liking.
- Unique and Flavorful Sauces: A variety of sauces and chutneys are offered, such as Cilantro Chutney, Green Goddess Sauce, and Tamarind Chutney, which are praised for enhancing the flavor of the dishes.
- Quick and Fast Service: Customers appreciate the efficiency of the staff and the speed at which orders are prepared, making it a great option for a quick bite during a busy workday.
- Vegan and Vegetarian Options: The menu is inclusive of different dietary needs, with dishes like the Chickpea Curry Bowl and various vegetable sides that can be adjusted for a vegan meal.

What is worth choosing INDAY?
Choosing INDAY is a worthwhile decision for anyone in New York looking for a quick, healthy, and flavorful meal that breaks from the traditional restaurant mold. While a few customers have had negative experiences with specific dishes or ingredient quality, the majority of feedback points to the food being "very tasty," "fresh," and a "great lunch choice." The concept of a modern, build-your-own-bowl eatery is particularly well-suited for the New York lifestyle, where convenience and healthy eating are often a priority. The dedicated gluten-free menu provides a level of comfort and safety that is not always available at other fast-casual establishments.
The restaurant's emphasis on flavorful and well-spiced dishes, as highlighted by many customers, makes it a more exciting option compared to other bland health-food chains. Despite the limited seating, the fast service and option for delivery and takeout make INDAY a highly practical choice. It's an excellent place for a satisfying solo lunch or a group meal where everyone can customize their own bowl. For a delicious and nutritious Indian-inspired meal that won't slow you down, INDAY is a smart choice in the heart of Midtown East.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1After some long hours perusing the area on a summer day, we finally settled on INDAY for lunch and were pleasantly surprised at how good our Indian-inspired bowls turned out. While they didn't list out a vegan bowl by default, I was able to adjust one of their veg options to simply include more chickpeas and greens over rice to make a suitable lunch option. The combination of seasoned chickpeas with rice and some of their warm sides made for a great meal.Since the store is small with limited seating, it's recommended to take out and head somewhere with AC/heat so you can dine more comfortably.
September 06 · Andy NgPoor quality food. Ordered the Golden chicken curry with basmati rice, garlic naan, and a mango lassi. Firstly, as a British person who knows what good Indian food should taste like, it’s rather embarrassing that Inday is associated with Indian cuisine. The “curry” was watery, very salty, and the chicken was poor quality. The rice was also very poor quality basmati rice. Zero flavour. The garlic naan was rubbery. You couldn’t even tear it easily and it had some strange garlic paste on it. The mango lassi was overly sweet and hard to swallow. I couldn’t finish my meal as it was so unpleasant to eat. Very disappointed.
September 16 · Jennifer HAbsolutely ridiculous, we ordered for takeaway some foods. And the moment we started to have it, it was rotten. The quinoa was completely rotten with onions smells so bad. Absolutely spoiled the lunch. This is from 07/01/2025.Posting few pics, don't go by how it looks as I can't explain how ridiculous it tastes and smells. All who took quinoa, only had 10% toppings and trashed remaining.
July 01 · saroj lenkaIt is shocking to see how far Inday has fallen in recent months. Take the macro bowl, barely enough quantity (
April 18 · Siva RChicken Tikka Masala Bowl was very good, tasty and not too spicy. Fried onions on top gave a nice crunch. Not a tandoori chicken but it was a good choice and I'll return!
