What is Worth Choosing
When you visit JAMROCK JERK, the choice can be tough because of all the mouth-watering options. However, certain dishes stand out as customer favorites and are a must-try for any newcomer. The Jerked Chicken is a classic for a reason. Cooked to a smoky perfection, it's tender and full of flavor. A standard Jerked Chicken meal, which comes with rice & peas, fried plantains, and a fresh salad, provides a complete and satisfying meal for $19.99. Another highly recommended option is the Jerked Pork. For just a dollar more at $20.99, you get boneless pork shoulder seasoned and prepared with the same signature jerk method. Many customers praise the pork for its juicy and flavorful taste, often citing it as even better than the chicken.
The Stewed Oxtail is a fan favorite, though it's important to note that it can sell out quickly due to high demand. Priced at $24.99 for a meal, it's a bit more expensive but well worth it. Customers have described the oxtail as perfectly cooked, soft, and tender, with a delicious flavor profile. The rich, succulent meat is often slow-cooked to the point of falling off the bone, making it a luxurious and deeply satisfying dish. While some reviews mention that the portion size may not be enough for a very heavy eater, the quality of the meat is consistently praised.
For those looking for a vegetarian or vegan option, JAMROCK JERK has a dedicated platter for $16.99. This meal includes a generous serving of rice & peas, fried plantains, and a fresh salad, providing a flavorful and filling alternative to the meat-focused dishes. The sides themselves are celebrated for their quality; the Rice & Peas, in particular, is noted for its authentic taste with real coconut. The Fried Plantains are another popular side, and many customers suggest ordering an extra serving if you're a fan of the sweet, fried bananas. The Mac & Cheese, an additional side for $7.99, is a good choice for those who love a classic, comforting dish.
Overall, what makes JAMROCK JERK a great choice is its consistent focus on traditional, high-quality Jamaican cuisine. While there may be occasional variations in portion size or flavor profile, the overwhelming sentiment from the community is positive. The restaurant's ability to maintain a strong reputation for authentic, delicious food in a competitive market like New York City speaks volumes. It's a place that brings the warmth and flavor of the Caribbean to the streets of New York, providing a much-needed taste of home for some and a wonderful culinary discovery for others. Whether you're in the mood for the spicy kick of jerk chicken or the savory richness of stewed oxtail, JAMROCK JERK is a solid choice that won't disappoint.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The oxtail was pretty good. Only problem was that for 26 after tax, the portion size of oxtail isn't so good. I wear a small shirt and I wasn't full. The oxtail was cooked perfectly though, soft and tender. The flavor was salt dominant rather than spices but that's forgiveable. I guess I'll go back cause it has a Jamaican monopoly on Austin Street but not often.
September 15 · Jian TanAbsolutely love Jamrock Jerk!! The people working the truck are always friendly. The food is delicious and I especially love their rice and gravy. My favorite platter is the pork platter and the oxtail, if you can catch them before they sell out for the day.
September 25 · Helen TranThey are back for the warmer weather weekends.Tried their Pork, Chicken and Ox tail and my favorite is the Ox tail.Chicken and pork felt kinda dry for my liking but still great if I douse with their wonderful sauce. They tend to sell out of Ox tail towards the later part of their day so go early if you want the Ox tail.Their rice is just so flavorful and delicious.
June 04 · David Ythe food was great. the spice/heat is minimal, to cater to a broad palate. the people attending the cart were sweet and polite. oxtail was sold out, so we had the chicken. will definitely be back again.
June 01 · CRS NYCGreat food, decent portions and fast service. A bit on the expensive side but then again it’s like that everywhere now. Would be 5 stars is more affordable and also if they served the traditional Jamaican steamed cabbage instead of a little salad on the side. Also they give plantains but only 3 pieces, kind of a tease!
