This established, family-owned pizzeria has been serving the Bergen County community for decades, carrying on a tradition that began over fifty years ago when the founder, John, emigrated from Calabria, Southern Italy, and first started working in a New York City pizza shop in 1957. With a reputation built on both its incredible food and its comforting, family-owned vibe, John's Boy Pizzeria has cultivated a loyal local clientele, including families, groups, and solo diners. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My husband and I randomly stepped in here in search of a quick dinner, and walked away pretty happy. We ordered two slices - mushroom and sausage - along with a grilled chicken Caesar salad - and were not disappointed. The slices here might not be the best or the largest, but there's an appreciable crisp acquired on the crust from the oven. We're a big fan of mushrooms, so we also loved how heavily they laid the mushrooms on those slices. Surprisingly, the salad was the star of our table spread. The sliced chicken was so moist and well-marinated that our forks were fighting for every last piece long after we pronounced ourselves full.I love the brisk and efficient service you get at a longstanding pizzeria, and we definitely got it at John's Boy's. You might not get smiles and cheer, but you'll get your food fast. Our food arrived at our table around five minutes after we ordered, and considering how hungry we were, we considered this a blessing.I don't think anyone steps into a pizzeria expecting ambiance, but there are a few things I found noteworthy while dining in. There's a definite draft during colder weather that seemed to push diners closer to the inside of the restaurant. There are single-stall bathrooms available, but the women's bathroom didn't close all the way. I found myself finishing my business hurriedly lest someone walk in on me.
December 03 · Jane CDo you like perfectly crispy, flakey crust? Then you NEED to try out John’s Boy pizza! I tried the buffalo Stromboli and it was the BEST I have ever had hands down 🙌🏻 scrumptious, and buffalo? You think burn your mouth off spice. Not this time. Flavorful with a dash of heat. the calzones are huge and flavor packed too! Check them out you won’t be disappointed 😊
October 23 · Josh JenkinsUndeniably the BEST Pizzeria in Bergen County, from the quality of food, the value, the atmosphere and most of all, the service. Umberto and his team ensure that YOU are happy.
May 05 · Dan Likes2playGreat little mom and pop pizzeria that has great pizza for a good price. A large pie is like $22 ish here when the same thing was $30 at a chain like dominos.Note that they only take cash, but there is an atm there
May 08 · Jake SeymerThe pizza was alright. The toppings weren't distributed evenly and the crust couldn't support the toppings. The salads could use more dressing. The flavor and cheese of the pizza is good. Very friendly service. Kind of a bummer they only accept cash. Overall decent experience.
