Kazumi Omakase Introduce
In a city with a seemingly endless number of high-end sushi spots, finding a true gem that offers both exceptional quality and incredible value is a rare and exciting discovery. Kazumi Omakase, located on West 8th Street, has quickly established itself as a must-visit destination for New Yorkers who appreciate the art of sushi without the astronomical price tag. The restaurant specializes in "omakase," a Japanese phrase that means "I'll leave it up to you," where the chef curates a multi-course meal based on the freshest ingredients of the day. What sets Kazumi apart is its commitment to providing an outstanding omakase experience that is both intimate and surprisingly affordable, making it a favorite among sushi enthusiasts.
This is not your typical neighborhood sushi joint. Kazumi offers a refined and modern dining experience centered around a thirteen-course meal that takes you on a journey of delicate flavors and textures. The atmosphere is trendy yet cozy, creating a perfect setting for a special dinner or a unique solo meal. The chefs are not only skilled but also engaging, turning the meal into a form of culinary theater. For many New Yorkers, Omakase has become a luxury reserved for special occasions, but Kazumi has made this exceptional dining style more accessible, allowing more people to experience the dedication and precision of a true sushi master. The reputation it has earned for providing a meal that tastes far more expensive than it is, has secured its place as a standout in the city's competitive sushi scene.

For a New Yorker, finding an omakase spot that offers genuine quality without requiring a month's rent is a game-changer. Kazumi Omakase is worth choosing because it masterfully bridges this gap. The core offering—a 13-course omakase for an exceptional value—is arguably one of the best deals in the city. Diners get to enjoy pieces that feature premium ingredients like uni, wagyu with truffle, and fatty tuna with caviar, which are typically reserved for much higher-priced menus. This is not a "lite" version of omakase; it's a full and satisfying meal that leaves you feeling completely full and delighted. The attention to detail, from the perfectly marinated ikura to the high-quality A5 wagyu, demonstrates a commitment to excellence that is rare at this price point. The fish is consistently fresh and the preparation is impeccable, making each piece of nigiri a moment of pure bliss.
Beyond the food, the overall experience at Kazumi is what truly sets it apart. The dining is not just a meal, but an intimate performance. Sitting at the counter, you get to watch the skilled chefs work their magic, and their friendly demeanor adds a personal touch that makes the experience even more special. The atmosphere is trendy and cozy, providing the perfect backdrop for a date night or a special occasion without feeling stuffy or overly formal. It's a place that feels exclusive and luxurious, but remains welcoming and unpretentious. The staff is attentive, and the service is fast, ensuring that the meal flows smoothly and you can truly immerse yourself in the moment. The combination of incredible value, high-quality ingredients, creative pairings, and an intimate setting makes Kazumi Omakase a standout choice. It’s an essential destination for any New Yorker who wants to experience the magic of a top-tier omakase without a top-tier price.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Kazumi Omakase was just added to my best omakases under $100 in NYC… this 13 course omakase was amazing and only $75 per person! You get all the best courses like torched sweet shrimp, wagyu with truffle, scallop, uni, ikura, and toro with caviar. The ikura is marinated so the pop is perfect and the taste is sweater than usual. I loved it! I also loved how they use pickled wasabi, freshly shaved truffle, caviar, scallions, and many more amazing toppings. The vibes are great and the food is outstanding! The portions are big so you leave full the fish truly is super fresh.
March 21 · Dani Raskin⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟 Clearly this restaurant is beyond 5 stars! Blown away by their 13 course sushi meal. The best meal ever!! How the chef handles each piece of fish delicately and prepares it so carefully and beautifully…almost like a poetry. Each course has one unique ingredient which takes it to a whole new dimension. The top quality fish and the A5 wagyu are at the center of it all. This is an experience in itself.
August 17 · Sangeeta Joshi$75 for 13 courses sushi omakase. Quality is above average. The only thing is I prefer something pure and traditional. For example I love sweet shrimp and uni. But I don’t like when they are mixed together. It is distracting and I can’t feel the pure sweetness from both shrimp and uni. But overall the fish, the seasoning, the presentation is great. The scallop was my favorite!!
July 18 · Christine ChuangKazumi is a very special place. The VALUE of this omakase set is truly unmatched. The fish slices are generous, the flavor combinations are creative and delicious, and the service is true hospitality. Wayne was a phenomenal chef and truly a master of his craft. This spot is definitely a must try for any sushi lover or omakase enthusiast. We can't wait to be back!
July 17 · Bailey JaworskiBest sushi experience ever in the USA! Every sushi was artistically & carefully prepared. At the end of 13 sushi the chef presented another special roll which was delicious. Also, an amazing cheesecake & delicious sake! Chef Danny was so friendly & funny & the restaurant had great music & vibe. Will definitely recommend & return on our next visit to NYC!
