Stumptown Coffee Roasters Introduce
In the vibrant heart of New York City's Greenwich Village, a neighborhood famous for its bohemian spirit and rich history, you'll find a coffee shop that has built a national reputation for quality and craftsmanship: Stumptown Coffee Roasters. Located on West 8th Street, just a stone's throw from the iconic Washington Square Park, this cafe offers more than just a cup of coffee. It’s a destination for coffee enthusiasts and casual drinkers alike, providing a cozy and trendy space to relax, work, or catch up with friends.
Stumptown Coffee Roasters is celebrated for its unwavering commitment to sourcing and roasting some of the world's best coffee beans. This dedication is evident in the taste of every beverage they serve. From a classic Espresso to the rich and smooth Nitro Cold Brew, the menu is designed to highlight the unique flavors of their expertly roasted beans. As one satisfied customer put it, the coffee is "off the chain," with a specific shoutout to a delicious "Rose Gold espresso with oat milk."
Beyond the coffee itself, the cafe is known for its excellent selection of other beverages, including a "great tea selection" and a variety of hot and cold drinks like the seasonal shrub and turmeric golden milk. This makes it a perfect spot for anyone, whether you’re a die-hard coffee aficionado or prefer a different kind of hot or cold beverage. The pastries, which have been described as looking "insane," provide the perfect accompaniment to your drink of choice.
The atmosphere at Stumptown is one of its greatest assets. It’s a space that feels both trendy and casual, with a cozy, "library-like" vibe that encourages patrons to linger. It's a popular spot for college students and tourists alike, and it's particularly well-regarded for those working on a laptop or enjoying a moment of solo dining. The availability of Wi-Fi and comfortable seating makes it an ideal remote workspace away from the hustle of city life.
While the cafe can get busy, sometimes requiring a short wait, the overall quality and experience make it well worth the time. The staff, for the most part, is highly praised for their incredible and friendly service, contributing to the welcoming atmosphere. As a hub for great coffee, a tranquil workspace, and a central meeting point, Stumptown Coffee Roasters stands as a beacon of quality in one of New York’s most beloved neighborhoods.

Choosing Stumptown Coffee Roasters is about more than just getting a caffeine fix; it’s about choosing a complete experience that prioritizes quality, atmosphere, and convenience. The most compelling reason to visit is, without a doubt, the coffee itself. The occasional live music events also add a unique and engaging element that you don't find at every coffee shop.
In summary, Stumptown Coffee Roasters is worth choosing for its exceptional coffee, its inviting and productive atmosphere, and its prime location in the heart of the West Village. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1A great coffee house. Awesome vibes. Chill and library like in atmosphere. Coffee was off the chain. Rose Gold espresso with oat milk, yep! Delicious. Pastries looked insane and staff was incredible. What a spot, around the corner from Washington Square Park. Go see them and tell em Barsnobs sent ya
June 03 · BarsnobsWent yesterday 5.15 pm. Place is beautiful (a bit small) but Not nice service at all. Staff was eager to leave (they closed at 6) when I got there they were bringing tables and chairs from outside. There were just a few cookies left. When I ask if I could sit in an empty table inside I was told yes but reminded that they closed at 6. I just went for a coffee and had half of it there… when I was leaving the lady shouted to everybody “this is a reminder that we are closing at 6” OMG!I was browsing at the coffee beans before but the attitude discouraged me from buying. I love their coffee beans. But I’d rather buy them in Orlando where I live and not deal with either rude or tired staff.Latte itself was not good either. It’s a shame. I went specifically to try their lattes and see what seemed a cool location.Wouldn’t return
March 15 · Ivanna RicciThe café is so gorgeous and the baristas are lovely people. As a barista in Germany myself I really loved their coffee, though I was sad to see that the coffee beans itself are too expensive to grab (about 23$ per package). Added this place to my favourite list for sure though :)
July 14 · Val SyllI used to manage a local coffee shop in Austin, TX that roasts its own beans and have been to at least a dozen coffee shops in NYC. This specific shop has two of the best cappuccinos I’ve had in years (because so many baristas can’t get just right (or make a foamy latte, wut??), a cap is the most difficult to do), two mornings in a row, two different baristas. To quote a viral content creator - “9 out of 5 starrrsss.”
August 24 · Brian AndersonGreat little coffee shop - not loads of seating but great to work for a few hours (free wifi). Nice coffee and other drinks and snacks. Lovely collection of merch too, including their own coffee bits, stickers, t shirts etc. Staff seem a nice bunch.
