What is Worth Choosing: Menu Highlights and Value
The heart of Khan Halal Food Cart's appeal lies in its menu, which focuses on delivering generous portions of traditional, flavorful Halal street food. The pricing is competitive, and the value is clear, making it a budget-friendly option for daily dining.
The most noteworthy items, and what every new customer should consider trying, are the rice platters and gyros. The Chicken Rice ($9.00), Lamb Rice ($9.00), and the combined Combo Rice ($9.00) platters are the quintessential offering. They typically consist of perfectly seasoned, grilled meat served over a bed of savory rice, topped with fresh lettuce and tomatoes, and generously drizzled with the iconic white sauce and a splash of hot sauce for those who crave heat. This combination is a classic for a reason—it’s filling, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying.
For those who prefer a hand-held option, the Chicken Gyro ($7.00) and Lamb Gyro ($7.00) offer the same great meat, wrapped in warm pita bread with fresh vegetables and sauces. The Lamb, Chicken & Falaf ($12.00) offers a slightly more premium and varied option, combining all three popular proteins. Customers also have the option of ordering Just Meet ($12.00), appealing to those on a lower-carb diet who want pure protein.
The cart allows for great customization to enhance your meal:
- Extra Rice ($3.00): Perfect for those with a larger appetite or who want to ensure leftovers.
- Extra Sauce ($2.00) / Extra Extra Of All Sauces ($3.00): For the many Halal food enthusiasts who believe the secret is in the sauce, this option ensures a richly sauced platter to your preference.
It is important for patrons to note the experiences shared in customer reviews, such as the mention of price adjustments and the importance of consistent quality. However, a long-time customer praised the 'great food, great service' and spoke to the dedication of the staff, noting, "Always exceeds expectations," which suggests that high-quality service and food are the standard experience at its best. This positive endorsement speaks volumes about the cart's ability to create loyal customers in a highly competitive market. Whether you’re stopping by for your first time or are a loyal regular, the menu at Khan Halal Food Cart is an essential piece of Bayside's fast-food scene, delivering a robust and authentic Halal experience.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I used to get from this cart often. I had a horrible day today and stopped by to get a quick bite. There was barely any chicken, no pita on it, and the rice was swimming in sauce. The food was not satisfying at all. The food was always great when the other guy was working. Not sure if it’s under new management or what, but don’t recommend it anymore. Oh, and the prices went up too. $9 for a platter and drink which is fine if the quality was still there. Unfortunate all around!
August 19 · AishaGreat food, great service. Knew this brother since his sammy days. Always exceeds expectations.
September 27 · Mani SinghThe food quality has gone way down after Faisal left. The new guy cooks a big batch and leaves it out all day and won't even heat up the meat when serving you. I order chicken with extra meat, instead I got the regular amount with cold chicken, but the guy assured me it was extra meat. Would not recommend.
June 12 · Stached TacoI’ve been a loyal customer of Khan’s Halal Food Cart for quite some time, and I feel compelled to share my experience. Our dear friend and just overall great guy, Faysal, who created such a warm and inviting atmosphere, is no longer there. I asked the bald, short, and somewhat rude person working the day shift about Faysal, and he was dismissive from the start, saying he wasn’t the owner, just another worker, and that the food was the same.I can tell you, my friends, it is not the same. The service has become subpar, and the initial hello I received was longer than it took him to prepare my food — that should have been my red flag. The quality of the food may still be decent, but the personal touch, the warmth, and the incredible service that Faysal consistently provided are now missing.Sad to say, I won’t be coming back. Faysal, if you’re reading this, I wish you well, my friend. Thank you for your warmth, your incredible service, and for the excellent food you served with care.
March 27 · Jose LazoFood is definitely not the same anymore, Gyros have less meat now. The new guy was also a little passive aggressive towards my mom when she asked for Faisal. He was such a great guy, he even knew my order. Hope he is doing well.
