Kogane Introduce
Welcome to Kogane Ramen, a beloved local spot tucked into the beautiful, historic Brooklyn Heights neighborhood. If you’re a New Yorker in search of a truly authentic and deeply satisfying bowl of ramen, your journey ends here. Kogane is more than just a Japanese restaurant; it's a cozy, warm escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, where every bowl of soup is a testament to the art of traditional Japanese noodle-making.
Specializing primarily in daily homemade ramen, Kogane has earned a reputation for quality, attentiveness, and a menu that caters to a wide variety of tastes. From rich, savory pork bone broths to lighter, flavorful chicken and vegetable bases, this restaurant ensures that whether you’re a ramen purist or looking for a unique, modern twist, there’s a perfect dish waiting for you. Located conveniently at 76 Henry Street, Kogane serves as an excellent place to refuel after exploring the nearby Brooklyn Bridge Park or the iconic Brooklyn Promenade.
The atmosphere here is frequently described by local patrons as both casual and cozy, featuring warm wood walls and a snug setting that invites you to relax and enjoy your meal. It’s an ideal spot for a quick bite during lunch, a comforting dinner, or even for solo dining. With a focus on comfort food and offering a variety of healthy and vegetarian options, Kogane has cemented its place as a gem in a neighborhood often praised for its charm but sometimes lacking in diverse, quality dining options.
The core of Kogane's excellence lies in their dedication to freshness. They famously make their noodles fresh in-house every day, offering both the thin, curly Tokyo-style noodles and the long, thin, and firm Hakata-style noodles, ensuring that the texture of your meal is always top-tier. Coupled with intensely flavorful broths—slow-cooked to perfection—and premium ingredients, it’s clear why Kogane is considered one of the must-try ramen experiences in Brooklyn.
Kogane Ramen is perfectly situated for residents and visitors alike in Brooklyn Heights. Its prime location at 76 Henry St, Brooklyn, NY 11201, USA, places it within a very short distance of major transportation hubs, making it a highly convenient dining destination for anyone coming from across the borough or Manhattan.
The closest and most convenient subway access is the Clark Street station, which is served by the 2 and 3 subway lines (2 train at all times, and the 3 train at all times except late nights). The restaurant is a mere one-minute walk (approximately 0.1 miles) from this station, an accessibility factor that busy New Yorkers deeply appreciate. Other nearby subway options include the High Street station (A and C lines) just a short 4-minute walk away, and Borough Hall–Court Street (2, 3, 4, 5, R lines) which is also within a comfortable walking distance.
For those driving to the neighborhood, it is important to note that the amenity options indicate Paid street parking is available nearby. The restaurant is also a short, scenic walk from popular local attractions like Cadman Plaza Park and the stunning Brooklyn Bridge Park, making it a natural stop for a meal before or after an afternoon out.

Kogane Ramen stands out in the competitive New York City dining scene due to several appealing features and a diverse menu:
- Daily Homemade Noodles: A commitment to quality is evident in their noodles, made fresh in-house every day. They offer both Tokyo-style (thin, curly) and Hakata-style (long, thin, firm) options.
- Specialty Ramen Options: The menu goes beyond the standard, featuring unique, must-try bowls like the luxurious Miso Lobster Ramen and the distinct Parco Ramen (which features a rich pork bone and curry-based broth with pork katsu).
- Vegan and Vegetarian Friendliness: Designated as a Vegetarian restaurant, Kogane offers excellent plant-based choices, including the flavorful Vegetable Ramen (Konbu based broth) and the Spicy Vegetable Ramen.
- Cozy and Casual Vibe: The interior features wood walls and a warm, snug setting, providing a comforting and quiet dining environment.
- Fast and Attentive Service: Known for its efficiency, Kogane is a popular choice for a quick bite, without sacrificing the quality of service.
- Diverse Japanese Menu: Beyond ramen, the menu includes a variety of satisfying small plates and sides like Pork Gyoza, Takoyaki, Miso Eggplant, and the less-common Pork Jowl Bun.
- Unique Signature Items: For the adventurous diner, the menu also features a popular Ramen Burger.
While the entire menu is crafted with care, a few dishes truly define the Kogane experience. When you visit, consider starting with a delicious appetizer before diving into one of their signature ramen bowls. The Pork Jowl Bun ($11.00) and the creamy, savory Takoyaki ($10.00) are local favorites for a reason. The Miso Eggplant ($10.00) and Sauteed Brussels Sprouts ($10.00) are highly-rated side options that perfectly complement the richness of the ramen broths.
For the main event, the ramen selection is superb. The classic Tonkotsu Ramen, with its rich, savory pork bone broth and braised pork belly, is a perfect benchmark for any ramen aficionado. However, two unique bowls stand out:
- Parco Ramen: This is a must-try for guests looking for a flavor profile that’s slightly different from the traditional bowl. It combines a pork bone and curry-based broth, topped with crispy Pork Katsu (a breaded pork cutlet), spicy Japanese pickles, and black garlic oil. This mix of savory, spicy, and umami is exceptional.
- Miso Lobster Ramen: An indulgent, decadent option priced at $29.00. It features a rich Tonkotsu and lobster broth base with red miso, fresh lobster meat, braised pork belly, and black garlic oil. It’s a truly elevated ramen experience, as described by one happy customer who found the lobster to be a mild and sweet addition to an already excellent bowl.
For those seeking vegetarian-friendly fare, the Vegetable Ramen (Konbu based broth) and Spicy Vegetable Ramen, complete with fresh greens and mushrooms, ensure that all diners can find a comforting and flavorful meal at Kogane. Finally, don't miss out on their Desserts, such as the Green Tea Mochi, for a sweet finish.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Nice ramen shop in the area, 2nd location with first locate on 14 & 8th? Much more traditional and better than the branch of michelin rated ramen shop closer to dumbo that closed down. Trypical menu selection got Takoyaki and Tonkotsu. Pleasant wait staff and cozy place, nice spot to grab a bite after hanging out at brooklyn bridge piers.
July 20 · Jia SunDelicious food and very attentive service. Very cool atmosphere inside, very kind server was very helpful. Ramen was very flavorful and delicious. Will definitely stop back in again next time I am in town!
March 27 · Evan LoehrIn a cute but restaurant-light neighborhood, where most local options are brunch-heavy or bakeries, Kogane is a gem. Small spot, adorned by wood walls and benches, super close to subway, with great food and service. Seaweed salad & Spicy Miso Ramen were both great and staff was attentive. Menu has a ton of options (from ramen to kid-friendly favorites like fries & wings), including many beers & sakes. High chairs available for the little ones. Priced for enjoyment without regret. Will definitely be back!
July 11 · Andrew RobertsReally good ramen! It’s slightly too fatty and oily but a solid 8/10. The fried chicken was a bit disappointing, size of the meat wasn’t at a good ratio. The eggplant was really good, nice miso dressing. The Spider Crab Buns was a nice surprise, good crunch to go with the soft bun. Overall, solid!
December 27 · Lift_Run_Eat_This place was amazing. We ordered the vegetable dumplings and some ramen. I got the Shoyu Ramen and my husband had the Yaki Ramen. The Yaki Ramen was very tasty. The portions are great in size. The atmosphere was very laid back. Will definitely come back again.
