When considering what makes Korean Express worth choosing, its primary strength lies in its fast and accessible approach to Korean cuisine. It's an ideal spot for those who want a quick, flavorful meal without the time commitment of a traditional sit-down restaurant, or the need to travel to Koreatown. The menu is extensive, offering a variety of beloved dishes like bibimbap, stews, and fried chicken, as well as unique options like box meals and platters. The option for reservations and a comfortable, casual atmosphere also make it a reliable choice for impromptu gatherings. The fact that it is popular for solo dining speaks to its comfortable and non-intimidating environment.
However, it's important to be aware of the mixed feedback from customers. While some praise the convenience, fast service, and good flavor, others have raised serious concerns about the quality and authenticity of certain dishes. Reviews mentioning a bug in food and a discrepancy in a beef short rib order are significant and should be considered. These negative experiences suggest that while the fast-casual model works for many, the authenticity and consistency of the food may not be what all customers expect. Therefore, a visit to Korean Express is best for those looking for a quick, comforting, and affordable Korean-style meal in the neighborhood, rather than a top-tier, authentic culinary experience. Its value is in its convenience and its ability to provide a taste of Korean food in a casual, express setting.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This place is a scam. I can’t believe it happened in USA. I ordered short rib and it costs more than all other beef on the menu. they charged me $41+ for this order after I made sure it is beef short rib. When I got the order, I know it’s not beef short rib so I brought it to then boss’s attention and asked why there was no bone on short ribs. She lied saying it’s boneless… why you take off the bone from the short rib and costs more work ? Also, it’s not beef short rib and it tastes so dried liked regular beef. Please avoid this place if you want authentic Korean food. And avoid the scam. She really thinks we don’t do groceries shopping or we don’t have common sense that we can’t differentiate types of beef. If you charged the price for beef short rib, please make sure give what we order. And it is nothing liked pic that is presenting in the restaurant
September 19 · Reina LGross!!! Never coming back! They put a cricket in my food knowing bibimbap is mixed after it’s in the hot stone and the bug was there on the side which I can only assume that they put that purposefully. The flavor of the food was also tasteless. Wasted $21.
April 27 · AnonymousYou order and pay at the front, then choose where you’d like to dine. I wasn’t sure what to order, but they suggested the hot stone dish, which makes the rice crispy and offers the option of squid. I decided to try it and enjoyed the “Korean” experience.
March 16 · Judy HungI've been coming here regularly for months. This is the best place a Hunter student can go. It's close by and has a lot of variety. The location of the Hunter main campus limits food options, so this is one of the closest places around campus, and I absolutely love their army stew.
April 15 · Bryan Zhao (Chenghui)Cozy place, lots of seating available. Bathroom for paying customers available, always nice. Food is fantastic each time. I usually get the teriyaki chicken box, for ~19$. Brought my buddies who swear by their bowls and soups. Service is good, friendly staff for the most part. Never had an issue.
