For New Yorkers prioritizing authentic flavor and technical excellence in Chinese cuisine, Kung Fu Xiao Long Bao offers a compelling experience that is truly worth choosing. The restaurant's unwavering commitment to its namesake dish is the primary draw. The experience of tasting perfectly crafted soup dumplings—where the thin yet durable skin holds the savory broth until the first bite—is a rare treat, even in a city with as many dining options as New York. The unique variety of XLB, from the traditional pork to the indulgent Black Truffle and the surprising Chocolate, demonstrates both mastery and innovation.
Beyond the dumplings, choosing Kung Fu Xiao Long Bao means embracing a full spectrum of delicious Chinese comfort food. The menu is highly specific and authentic, offering substantial portions and rich flavors. As one reviewer noted, the food is so well-seasoned (perhaps a little "salty and oily," in the best traditional way) that there is "no need to add additional sauce." This commitment to strong, confident flavors across the Stir Fry and Noodle sections ensures that every order, whether it's the Crispy Garlic Ribs or the Sizzling Roast Pork, Chicken & Pineapple Fried Noodle/Rice, is an authentic delight.
While the Cash-only policy is a small planning consideration, it speaks to the efficiency and focus of the establishment, allowing them to concentrate on food quality and generous portions. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1tiny spot in flushing but the dim sum is popping!! everything was so good, i don’t think you can go wrong here. only downside is that it’s cash only.i was teaching a friend how to use chopsticks here and an elderly chinese lady at the table next to us said that i held chopsticks correctly & that i was doing a good job teaching my friend 😭 it was the sweetest and perhaps most validating thing ever
October 07 · Natalie NeshamaThis is definitely good quality soup dumplings. The quality of the skin is thick and the soup will not come out. The was decent. The portion of size was not very huge. It's good for one person. The food was little oily and salty, no need to add additional sauce. Prepare to drink a lot water. The staff is friendly! The black truffle was one of my favorite soup dumpling!
September 18 · Stanley ChanHad a wonderful dinner with our 4 person family. Minus a mistake with the milk tea and there being not being alcohol; this was the best soup dumplings I’ve had in flushing. Yes, better than Nan Xiang. Food was well prepared and seasoned. Extremely nice portions, flavor, texture, service, price! Will return!
March 26 · Joseph LeimanHad some of the best dim sums and dumplings ever. The crab dim sums had a subtle garlicky taste and melted in the mouth. The chicken dumplings in hot and sour sauce were amazing too! The place also serves complimentary hot tea! But they accept cash only, so make sure you have cash on you before you visit.
September 23 · Andie BI would have given them 10 stars if Google reviews had the option because it was sooo good. I went to NY from Germany and made an effort to travel to Flushing from Manhatten just to eat their dumplings and I am glad that I did. They were the best and Their staff is so nice, soft spoken and very helpful in describing the taste and content of food before I ordered. Highly recommend going here♥️♥️
