Le Pain Quotidien's menu is a celebration of simple, yet elegant, food. At its core, the restaurant is known for its incredible baked goods, including artisanal breads, croissants, and other viennoiseries. Beyond the bread, the menu is surprisingly diverse and caters to a wide range of tastes and dietary needs. You'll find a selection of wholesome salads like the Quinoa & Avocado Salad and comforting hot dishes like the classic Quiche Lorraine. Breakfast and brunch are particular highlights, with options ranging from a savory Sunny Side Breakfast Bowl to a sweet Belgian Waffle with berries.
One of the most appealing aspects of Le Pain Quotidien is its commitment to using high-quality, organic ingredients whenever possible. This focus on healthy and wholesome food is evident in the fresh flavors of every dish. The offerings include a variety of vegan and vegetarian options, making it an inclusive spot for everyone. This dedication to quality extends to their beverages, with a reputation for great coffee and a wide selection of teas. Many customers come specifically for a quiet morning with a perfectly made latte or a rich Belgian hot chocolate, though it's worth noting that one reviewer found the latter a bit bland. Despite this, the coffee and tea selection remains a strong point.
The atmosphere at Le Pain Quotidien is casual, cozy, and trendy, making it a popular spot for a variety of crowds, including families, tourists, and solo diners. The communal tables are a signature feature of the brand, encouraging a sense of community and shared dining. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I happened to be waiting for friends and decided to walk around for a place to eat breakfast. The outside menu listed a nice Belgian waffle with berries and I was sold! The service was very friendly, but they only had one person taking care of the dining room. Consequently, it was slow and not her fault. The waffle was small, though surprisingly filling and quite delicious. The side of bacon was also quite nice. The Belgian hot chocolate was a bit bland,.and didn't really have much of a chocolate kick. The dining area itself has a great many tables far too close together for much comfort. So, food was worth coming back for, but they needed more help on the weekend and a bit more room for any level of comfort.
February 25 · Kristoffer GairRecommended to come here for breakfast by a close friend. The service was a bit slow was left waiting for a long time, but the breakfast was good. Small portion size but quality. Latte = pro stuff not that I’m a coffee person though. The recommendation for fresh cream doughnut thing was spot on. I do reccomend you try that.I spent a good few hours on my laptop enjoyed it & managed to get some personal stuff done. ☑️Visited Feb 2025
February 20 · Hamza AbidThe food was delicious ordered a croque madame with toast instead of flat bread. Brioche was cold, so had to ask them to heat it up. Service was slow, took a while to get food.
June 14 · Diana DavenportI’ve loved Le Pain Quotidien since first going in 2010 on a visit to NYC. Always a great breakfast or light lunch. This trip at breakfast I had the Honey Lemon Ginger beverage. It was so delicious I went back every day for one. I wish I had taken a picture of the one when dining in as the presentation was excellent. I will definitely be trying to recreate this at home.
February 16 · Sophia BeteghLovely bakery and all day restaurant on the corner at 5th Ave diagonally across from the Grad Center. I stopped in today for mint tea and a pastry in the afternoon. The music was soothing and the fresh mint tea is the best. The best thing about this bakery is the young man behind the counter. Sheldon is an absolute gem of a human being. Sheldon exemplifies excellent customer service that is thoughtful and kind. Thank you, you made my day!
