★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Came here for the NYC restaurant week on 08/17 (we were told that had ended, but after we showed the information on their website that explicitly said it runs through August 17 including Sundays, they did honor it).The menu was great, everything we tried was scrumptious, portions were just the right size. The place is nice decorated and would be very cozy if it were a little less loud. Our final bill had a Rethink fee added to it, which wasn’t advertised anywhere and I feel like there should be more information on what that is (there’s a website indicated that you can check but I would prefer it to be explained more explicitly. I don’t mind supporting non profits of that sort, I just don’t feel it should be forced onto people like that).
August 26 · Olga EgorovaLore in Park Slope is one of those rare places that instantly makes you feel at home, while serving dishes that rival the finest kitchens in Brooklyn. The atmosphere is warm, intimate, and full of character perfect for a night out that still feels personal. The scallops were nothing short of incredible! Perfectly seared with a golden crust and melt-in-your-mouth texture. The duck? An absolute standout. Rich, flavorful, cooked to perfection, and plated with care and balance. Every bite felt intentional, crafted with love and serious skill. But the real magic at Lore comes from Chef Jay Kumar. He’s not just cooking, he’s telling stories on the plate. A true talent and visionary, Chef Jay is the heart and soul of this place. You can taste his passion and brilliance in everything that comes out of the kitchen. The staff is warm, the energy is authentic, and the food? Easily some of the best in Brooklyn. Lore isn’t just a meal, it’s an experience.
June 08 · Dan RoyterAll too rarely do you encounter new and truly surprising flavors, LORE is an exception. Incredible balance of sour, spice, sweet, umami. Their new scallop dish on a bed of nutty yogurt rice with a plum chutney and the samosa puffs on swirls of mango, mint, beetroot chutney were standouts. Great drinks, cozy atmosphere, and very warm staff to boot. Fabulous experience, and I will be back!
September 25 · Alyson SlaterMy boyfriend and I ate at the bar on Valentine’s Day and had such a great experience. This is a small, bustling restaurant with amazing food and service. The menu is super interesting and everything we ate was flavorful and delicious! We ordered the dosa, prawns, sea bream, and the pudding for dessert. We got to chatting with one of the servers about our love for spice and he sent us home with some of their house hot sauce (which we’ve still been enjoying at home!). While it was a busy restaurant, they did a great job of personalizing our experience and making us feel right at home. We can’t wait to go back!
March 25 · Katherine McCallCame here and ordered alot of food and tried it all! Place is popular as it’s full for dinner during week so make a reservation in advance.Staff were helpful and attentive all night and helped us with recommendations. Our top dish was the prawns, but some other standouts are the steak and dosa.
