What is Worth Choosing
When visiting a local favorite like Lucky Boy, choosing what to order often comes down to their signature strengths, which lie in their authentic Greek offerings and substantial American favorites. Based on menu highlights and customer reviews, there are a few items that New York locals should definitely consider for their meal.
The Platters are a fantastic choice, offering a great balance of food quantity and flavor. Customers specifically highlighted ordering "platters and calamari," finding the price to be "okay for the amount of food we got." A platter often includes the protein—such as the Gyro, Chicken Gyro, or Souvlaki—accompanied by the famous Greek salad, rice, and fresh vegetables or steak fried potatoes, making for a truly filling and satisfying meal.
For a classic, hand-held option, the Gyro Pita or Souvlaki Sandwich is highly recommended. One satisfied customer enjoyed the "gyro pita (had a lot of stuff)," a testament to its hearty filling. These sandwiches encapsulate the best of the restaurant’s Greek roots, featuring flavorful, perfectly seasoned meats and traditional fixings.
Don't skip the fresh starters and salads. The Traditional Greek Salad, which comes with many of the main items, is a local favorite and an essential part of the Lucky Boy experience. Additionally, the Fried Calamari and the Spinach Pie (Spanakopita) stand out as superb appetizers, providing that fresh, Mediterranean start or snack.
While the menu successfully integrates American options like burgers, a patron noted that a plain burger, while "not bad," had a tough bun. Therefore, for the best and most characteristic Lucky Boy experience, steering toward their robust Greek/Mediterranean choices, especially the full platters or classic sandwiches, is the path to the highest level of satisfaction. Choosing Lucky Boy means choosing a comforting, quality meal backed by decades of service to the Long Island community.

March 21 · OH yeahSo far its good! The first time we try this Greek Restaurant. The place looks nice and clean. Everyone seems nice. The food that we have tastes good. We just came here, eat and run fast.
July 08 · Mace L. M.I lived in the Five Towns for a long time but never had the pleasure of eating here. I happen to pass by today and since I was starved decided to stop in. All I can say is wow! The food, service and old school ambiance is beyond excellent. If you go, don’t skip dessert, their chocolate cream pie and coconut pie may be the best desserts I’ve ever eaten. Btw.everything is made fresh and you can taste it.
April 20 · Neil KaplanGreat portions. The banana pie and gyro sandwiches were delicious. Friendly staff, great sunny room. Doesn’t get any better than this.
January 03 · Jeremy SchipperThis struck me as more a kind of intimate diner, having a generalist menu with some Greek specialties. Service most attentive. My eggplant parmesan hero was one of the best I've ever had, but was bare -- not even a small coleslaw, vegetables, pickles, or garnish. For the price, that would be my sole criticism. Otherwise, enjoyed very much.
