This isn't just a place to grab a quick bite; it's a piece of local history, offering a taste of tradition in every bite of its famous falafel and savory shawarma.
Mamoun's Falafel has earned its reputation by sticking to what works: simple, fresh ingredients prepared with care and served with speed. The menu is a celebration of classic Middle Eastern street food, perfected over decades. The core of the menu revolves around its timeless classics. The falafel, made from a secret family recipe, is crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, a perfect vegetarian delight. The shawarma, marinated and slow-cooked to perfection, is another crowd-pleaser. Beyond the sandwiches, the platters offer a more substantial meal, served with a choice of seasoned rice or salad. The menu also features a variety of sides like creamy hummus, smoky baba ganouj, and perfectly seasoned fries. And don't forget the signature sauces—the tahini and hot sauce are a must-try.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I used to go to the one on St. Mark’s Place in East Village. It’s my first time here since it opened its location in uptown. I got a Sullivan sandwich as usual with pickles, olives, and pickled turnips. I live the crunch of the pickled turnips. I also ordered a seasoned fries. The sandwich was nice, but the chicken was a bit dry. The flavor was nice, especially with the tahini sauce and the savory flavor from the olives and the pickled turnips. Overall, it was nice. It was such a mess though. It was basically falling apart when I opened the tinfoils. The fries had a nice flavor, but they were crunchy at all. They were soggy. It was also a bit small for $4.Overall, it was nice, but not as nice as I remembered from years ago.
June 14 · Bradley CI've been going here for years, their falafel pita sandwich or meat sandwiches & platters are great. The chicken is my favorite. White & hot sauce are top notch. Their in house drinks & desserts are great too. A bunch of locations in NYC.
May 20 · Samir NawazI was a little nervous trying this new location but i was not disappointed at all! Upon entering i was greated by a friendly staff. Swarma is my test as its the best at thier west village store. Soooo it was great! Very moist and flavorful. I would've like a tad bit more tahini but it was great anyway. Fresh veggies too. Hot sauce tops as always. Very clean spot too. Guys great job!
April 15 · j handy (Handyman review)Good falafel, I had the Manhattan pita without pickles n olives. The pickled radish n hummus are cold, so it does get cold pretty quickly. Missing a lil kick, but relatively satisfying. =w=
January 23 · Ghennah FordeFast and fresh. A Birthday freebie.. 8. Michael at 1105 Lexington Ave gave a warm welcome at my stating I was here for my B’day sandwich. With just my phone number my account was pulled up and I chose the “East Village” sandwich.. and yes I said to pickles, pickled turnips and olives. My number was called shortly afterward and a fresh falafel sandwich was plenty for my spouse and me.We’ll be back!
