★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This place has been kept a secret far too long. Now that I and my big mouth have discovered it I'm going to let the whole entire world know through Google review that this right here is truly Jamaican soul cooked food You understand what I'm saying Yes you do And if you don't go down to Mandeville Cafe and put your lips on some curry chicken or even starting off for breakfast try one of the porridge my favorite is the one that they make on Monday Tuesday. If breakfast is not your thing you could always come in for lunch they have a nice range of foods they have ackee and saltfish liver I also believe I did see some okra callaloo definitely have the johnnycakes or bake depending on what part of the Caribbean you are coming from. And the place is very well maintained. It kind of bring me back to my mom's side of the island where you going to one of the mom and pop restaurants in Jamaica where there's no big ambience because it's not necessary it's just cleanliness cuz cleanliness is next to godliness. So is cleanliness it's attitude of being grateful and you could feel that in the atmosphere when you speak to the owner. She is so grateful to be here serving a community which absolutely definitely do need this type of meal done the right way. I'm so happy to have found her and the restaurant. Day one I came across the porridge that's all it took My mind immediately flashed back to my grandmother cooking over stove department watching her The flavors in this porridge were exactly what I remember as a teenager. No one has duplicated that until now. It must say a lot. I have not tried the jerk chicken head but I plan to however I did have the curry chicken and my oh my hot steamy thing looking good. You don't have to take my word for it just go in and when you go make sure you tell her I sent you Tell her I is the woman who always come for the porridge early in the morning on Monday and Tuesday she'll know exactly what you're talking about. Let's talk about cleanliness when you walk in there's no sense that is not pleasant in the air The scent of foods fills your nostrils and if you're not hungry trust you me you become hungry. As you look around you'll see white tile on the counter the floor is nicely swept and cleaned the tables are definitely clean and the serving bar is clean you can see through the glass without smudge or fingerprints. I really wish you guys go and support this place and then write your own review. I absolutely love it but my taste buds are not yours however they will be once you try Mandeville Cafe you'll come out saying the same thing I said don't this taste like home.

March 26 · Chiwoo YimOMG!!!! I fell in love with tbis place not only is the food good byt the lady behind the counter is so nice and sweet I came everyday while I was visiting on my 3 day vacay in Brooklyn. I love their food and the curry goat is to die for. Keep up the good work Mandeville, you have a place in my heart.
August 25 · Foodie RunServer has an open wound where the skin has come off on the outside of her hand. She was not wearing gloves or a bandage to serve food. The scar look like it was healing but the lack of protection is alarming. Food is usually tasty so I was disappointed to see that and not eat there anymore.
November 02 · Kay keysWent to this restaurant to get some soup but they didn’t have the soup that I wanted so because I’m so picky when it comes to meat I decided to get a small white rice with curry gravy and potatoes that was in the curry …when I got to my job I started eating and by the forth or fifth bite I saw a mouse dropping in my food totally disgusted I took the food back to the store with the mouse dropping…I believe the owner an older lady with glasses tried to tell me that she didn’t know what that was and I clearly opened and gave it to her for her and her worker to se that that was a mouse dropping with curry sauce ….refuse to eat out anywhere traumatized by this because I don’t know if I swallowed any mouse droppings….and still after all of that they served all there food to customers throughout the day comfortably
