What is Worth Choosing at McDonald BBQ
McDonald BBQ stands out in the New Jersey food scene by offering an authentic, expansive menu that deeply satisfies the craving for comfort food. What makes it particularly worth choosing is its dual specialty: classic, saucy barbecue and rich, flavorful soul food dishes, all available at a single, accessible location in the City of Orange.
Reasons to choose this establishment include:
- Menu Diversity: The ability to order traditional barbecue alongside specialized dinners like Oxtail or Curry Goat provides an exceptional variety not common in typical barbecue joints. This makes it an ideal spot when different members of a family or group are craving distinct types of comfort cuisine.
- The Side Orders: For many New Jersey comfort food enthusiasts, the sides are as important as the main dish. The extensive selection, including Macaroni & Cheese and Candied Yams, allows customers to build a complete, satisfying meal tailored to their preferences.
- Accessibility and Parking: The combination of being on a major route (Main Street) and offering both a free parking lot and free street parking removes a significant barrier often found in urban dining, promoting convenience.
- Late-Night Availability: As a source of late-night food, it provides a valuable option for workers, travelers, or anyone needing a substantive meal outside of standard operating hours.
Prospective customers in New Jersey should, however, exercise prudence and use available contact methods to inquire about daily specials and potential wait times, as the "Usually a wait" highlight suggests peak periods can be busy. Furthermore, while the restaurant aims for quality, customer feedback has occasionally highlighted concerns regarding the consistency of food preparation and cleanliness, which is a vital area for any local eatery to continuously monitor and improve upon to ensure every visit meets the high standards the community expects for their dining experience.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Unbelievable. I was so excited to finally get to taste the food and it was so disappointing. I don’t understand how people love this food. The ribs, the main thing I came for were inedible and oversauced. Couldn’t take one bite. Fried chicken was old, oil and stale. The yams don’t have a bit of love cooked in them stringy and looked like baby food. I’m just in shock how the food was so old and not good. What a shame

August 01 · Vb TrToday I stopped in, ordered baked chicken and 2 side orders of collards. I usually get the ribs, but I wanted something different. Should have just stayed home! Chicken was not baked, it was cold and hard as a rock, looked like old fried chicken, then they put BBQ Sauce on it! WHY! I DID NOT ASK FOR THIS SIR. Collard greens were cold and not the usual. So disappointed… never again
