Natsumi is a worthy choice for a number of reasons that go beyond a standard sushi restaurant. Its location in the Theater District is a major draw, making it an ideal pre-show dinner spot where you can enjoy a delicious meal without rushing. The "average, not exciting" criticism on the portions and prices, while acknowledged by some patrons, is often balanced by the understanding that this is typical for a New York City dining experience, where premium quality often comes at a higher price point. The freshness of the sashimi and the excellent service are consistently praised in customer reviews, highlighting the restaurant’s commitment to providing a high-quality product and a great guest experience.
What truly makes Natsumi worth choosing is its inventive menu that caters to a variety of tastes. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Always love some good sushi, and decided to try this place. The food to me is average, not exciting. Kind expensive and small portions, sashimi is fresh and decent quality. but it’s NY, so kind of expected. The tempura cheesecake was the highlight of the meal. The service is great 👍.
July 27 · Cassy RandolphInteresting little spot that offers some good sushi. Great for a quick snack before a theatre show begins! The staff are friendly and helpful. I wouldn’t suggest ordering wine by the glass here as it might have some slow turnover (ie. oxidize wine). The black miso cod was delicious and if you want to spoil yourself, I’d recommend this. Chocolate mousse cake was also ok…but lacked a “wow” factor….still ate all it though!
May 24 · Nolan RumbleWe had the tempura rock shrimp and fried chicken appetizer. Both were excellent and we should have stopped there as that was enough food for the both of us.We also had a couple of mixed drinks (peach one pictured here) and we enjoyed a Sapporo as well.Shared the maki platter, I wouldn't order the Philly roll again, too much cream cheese and no cucumber, it was just overwhelming. We shared the tempura, don't skip this during your visit - delicious!
August 23 · Angie RNice & friendly service with mediocre sushi. The Tuna Tartar Martini was delicious, Sushi and Sashimi were average, and the Ginger Citrus Duck Breast was tasty but really dry.Overall experience was just okay, don’t think I would come back again.
January 21 · GrAcIE WCan I have 100 stars? Holy moly! There are some amazingly unique treats on this menu, and of course I had to try! Green tea gnocchi? Probably easily one of the best gnocchi dishes Ive had! The capers scattered through the dish give a perfectly salty compliment to a savory dish that has the perfect dash of something almost sweet! I will be dreaming about this dish FOR-EVER! Stacy our server was an absolute delight! To top off the meal; dessert a tempura cheesecake, crunchy and just absolutely melts in your mouth!I will most certainly find myself here again when I visit...if not again before I leave!
