What is Worth Choosing
For New Yorkers, the New York Beach Club & Restaurant is worth choosing not just for the food, but for the exclusive atmosphere it provides to the public during evening hours. The number one reason to choose this venue is the Open-Air Oceanfront Dining and Live Entertainment. There are few other places in the New York metropolitan area where you can enjoy a full-service dinner, cocktails, and live music with an unobstructed view of the Atlantic Ocean.
For the menu, patrons should focus on the items best suited for a beachside meal. During public dinner service, the focus is on a tempting menu of Seafood and Specialty Entrées, which are the culinary highlights of the evening experience. Based on menu snippets available online for daytime offerings, items like the Lobster Roll (available hot or cold) and the NYBC Chef's Burger are excellent choices for "Comfort food" with a gourmet touch. The menu also offers simpler fare like a variety of Salads (e.g., Watermelon and Feta Salad) and Small plates ideal for pairing with their specialty cocktails. While a previous review mentioned inconsistency in buffet quality on one occasion, the overall consensus for the club's dining experience highlights the fantastic setting and entertainment, which should guide your expectations for a fun, themed dining night out of the city. Given the "Great cocktails" and "Great beer selection," ordering a signature drink to enjoy as the sun sets over the ocean is highly recommended to fully embrace the atmosphere.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This review is only for the Beach Club. We did not go to the restaurant although ordered online to eat at the cabana. We had the best day at NY Beach Club! A dear friend invited us, and it was such a relaxing, family-friendly experience. The beach was quiet and clean, the vibe super chill, and the staff were so friendly and attentive. A couple of guys even came to the rescue to help with giant wasps situation. 🤪I loved having access to clean bathrooms and real shower —huge plus! My toddler was thrilled with the pool since he’s not a fan of the ocean yet 🤪. The food was also delicious, we ordered chicken tenders (coz kids 🫠) and apparently pizza is not served on Mondays although the site let me order it anyway - just FYI.Highly recommend if you want a low-key beach day with all the comforts - however you need a membership!
August 04 · Anna “Aromanna”Went to see a great band and have dinner. The food buffet was so bad and the quality was terrible. Starting with the salad, that was the best thing there, moved onto the selection of fried calamari and chicken tenders which were empty from the beginning at 6:15, there was mozzarella sticks which were ok, the salmon was so flavorless and the chicken was gross, 50.00 dollars was highway robbery. Luigi our waiter was nice but very busy and we had to look for him. Have to say The beach view was beautiful. Beware of the parking and the sign that says VAB. You will get ticketed.
August 30 · Penny FrondelliI can only speak of the public areas. Private beach club with a public restaurant & bar right on the beach, sometimes with live music to 11pm. Variety of food items on the menu, although some items like the raw bar were out. Overall quality of food was very good, and the wait staff is young and feeling their way, but everything is a relaxed atmosphere that's a nice summer option. Check the website for reservations.
July 13 · Kraig DeMatteisWent there for the first time. The view is the thing. Our mixed drinks were not good, the Lobster roll was made from previously frozen lobster…the texture was awful. The service was non existent. We had to keep looking for wait staff. The band was good. But that was it. Not a great experience.
July 13 · Margo soraceMy family and I just toured NYBC. We received an invitation for an open house from 11-1 for today, as we previously inquired about the facility. We were greeted by the manager Jill, She told us to wait by the pool for 15 minutes till she is ready to start. As we were waiting my 3 Yr old wanted to go in the pool so I told him he can go in for a few minutes just until the tour starts. Jill immediately came out of the office and informed us this was not a free beach or pool day and began to question if we were even serious in becoming members! I felt so uncomfortable but my son wanted to go on the tour since we already drove 30 min to be there. The rest of the tour her rudeness continued, saying she's not sure what we do for work or where we live but letting us know there is wifi! She clearly was given some kind of vibe that we may not be serious, i don't know what would have given her that impression. My kids are young, going to be 4 and 2 yrs old. Inviting someone to an open house as a family and not allowing the kids to explore the playground or the beach was surprising. With all of that being said we will not be becoming members.
August 24 · Ian AxelrodWe were really looking forward to a fun Saturday night at New York Beach Club, but unfortunately it turned into a huge disappointment. We waited nearly two hours for our food, and after 90 minutes, all we received was a shrimp cocktail and a pizza — no entrees, no explanation for the extreme delay beyond “the kitchen is backed up.”The manager did apologize, which we appreciated, but it didn’t change the fact that we never actually had dinner. After waiting for so long with no resolution in sight, we ended up leaving hungry and frustrated. Totally ruined what was supposed to be a nice evening out. With so many great places to go on Long Island, this kind of service just isn’t acceptable. Sadly, we won’t be back.
