ODRE Introduce
Odre, which means "welcome" in a Korean dialect, is a modern and sophisticated Korean restaurant located in the heart of New York City's East Village. This establishment is not your typical Korean eatery; it’s a destination that offers a curated, four-course prix fixe menu that provides a unique and memorable dining experience. The concept behind Odre is to reinterpret authentic Korean flavors and traditions through a creative, contemporary lens. Each dish is meticulously prepared to highlight seasonal ingredients and showcases the deep expertise of the chefs, making for a culinary journey that is both innovative and comforting. The atmosphere is designed to be cozy and trendy, providing an intimate setting for guests to enjoy their meal.
The core of the Odre experience is its set menu, which changes seasonally to reflect the essence of Korea’s four distinct seasons. This approach ensures that every visit offers something new and exciting. The meal culminates in a Bansang, a traditional Korean meal setting that includes rice, soup, and an array of six made-to-order banchan (side dishes). This final course is prepared at a central "gamasot" bar, a traditional Korean large iron pot, where the aroma of freshly cooked rice and simmering soup tantalizes the senses and adds to the authenticity of the experience. Odre is a place for a special occasion or a deliberate dinner, where every detail from the plating to the service is carefully considered to provide a complete and satisfying meal.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1It’s good. Like it didn’t blow me away, but I do think it’s decent value for $42.For course 1, I think the “soy pine nut milk” tasted like Soylent meets dish soap. But the scallops were decent. For course 2, the tacos were excellent and the lamb was really good. The crab was pretty good. For course 3, the gabli (beef) was excellllennnttt. The fish was really good. The duck was pretty good. The seasonal soup was also quite good.I think this meal would be really elevated if the tasting menu came with dessert. Personally, I’d rather them add $5 to the price and include a small dessert. A meal just isn’t complete without it.We got the cherry cheesecake at the end and it was actually very very good. I’d recommend it.It’s loud inside and hard to hear the server as they explain each dish.Overall, it was good, but I wouldn’t actively recommend it to someone.
August 02 · Cassia AHad such a great time at Odre! The dishes are super creative; one of my favorites was the odre caesar salad. The combo of chicken and cabbage was such a creative twist, never would’ve thought to put those together like that. We also added the yukgaejang noodle, which was super flavorful, definitely recommend getting that. For dessert, the yakgwa cheesecake was a standout for me.Honestly didn’t expect to be full with just a 3 course menu, but with the add-on and dessert, I left totally satisfied.Big shoutout to the head chef too, the creativity and attention to detail in every dish really stood out. The staff were also super warm and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Highly recommend checking this place out:)
April 07 · Erin LimWow! I came here with a friend not knowing anything about the restaurant. Food is FIRE and price is GREAT. I've done plenty of "fine dining" and this hit all the notes of flavor complexity while also being a filling and satisfying meal. Leaving a 5 star- review not only because it was an amazing deal, it was hands down amazing food and better than some $100+ tasting menus I've had. My only request is that the restaurant serve some homemade kimchi. I'm sure they'd kill it. Hats off to the chef and crew!In these economic times, we need spots like this to allow normal people to treat ourselves without breaking the bank. Thanks, ODRE :)
August 03 · Alex ItoReally tasty bites served with a high degree of attention to detail. Wine is shockingly affordable at per bottle prices below $60. Atmosphere left a little to be desired as it was very loud inside, not because of music from the establishment, but because of people talking loudly. Service was good.
June 23 · Lacey WI had an online reservation and everything went super smoothly, the reservation was honored without any issues. The staff was 10/10, super friendly, kind and really helpful. The food came out really fast and it was absolutely amazing. Honestly it was a unique experience and I'd totally recommend this place
August 28 · Bertha AndronieCelebrated our anniversary here, and staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. One of our most memorable meals (and incredible value to boot). Can't wait to go back!
