Whether you are coming for the highlighted Breakfast or a hearty Dinner, there are many compelling reasons to choose this local Elizabeth, NJ establishment.
The first item worth highlighting is the Bandeja Paisa Plate ($15.50). This is arguably the national dish of Colombia, an incredibly substantial and complete meal. Choosing the Bandeja Paisa is choosing to experience Colombian culinary tradition at its most generous. For a first-time visitor, this dish is the quintessential choice to understand the richness and variety of the country's flavors, often including rice, beans, ground meat, fried egg, plantain, avocado, and more.
As a prominent breakfast restaurant, the quality of the coffee cannot be overstated. For those seeking traditional starters, the Aperitivos are an excellent choice. The Empanadas are a classic choice, perfect for a quick bite or a shared appetizer, and the Chorizo ($3.50) offers a savory, well-spiced beginning to any meal. These items are quick, delicious, and provide an immediate flavor of Colombia.
Finally, for those who enjoy seafood or something more unique, exploring the Mariscos section is advised. The Pargo Frito ($20.99) (Fried Snapper) is a classic choice, though note that customer reviews suggest ordering during peak hours to ensure the freshest quality. The Mofongos, specifically the Camarones Al Ajillo con Mofongo ($14.99) (Shrimp in Garlic with Mashed Fried Plantains), offer a distinct texture and flavor profile that showcases the regional variety of Latin American cuisine and is a particularly comforting and rich dish.
In essence, Oh! Que Bueno! is worth choosing for its authenticity, its commitment to large, satisfying portions at fair prices, its famously good coffee, and the friendly, cozy atmosphere. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1From the outside, it looks like the littlest hole in the wall but omg… what a great spot. I got the agua de guayaba and it tasted so homemade, so so so delicious. And the food was just as perfect plus the amount they serve you is extremely generous as well as the prices that go with it. So happy I stumbled upon this place. The service was wonderful, all of the girls were very sweet. 20/10.. this place will not disappoint you
November 24 · Eli EscobarOrdered late night after our flight. We got fried snapper with white rice and beans. And a little bit of plantains. Gave them 4 stars because I've ordered here before and food was great last time. But this snapper was old and stale sadly. The presentation was nice, but I have to say the food is pricey. And I will never order that late again for the sake of getting fresher food.
January 07 · Starlica ReinéI have been ordering from this place lately. The soups and buñuelos are really good. The waitresses are very nice and attentive. However, I ordered from the menu and I received a really small lunch. You can see the sizes of the plantains (what a joke). Then, the menu says it costs $12 and they charged me $16.50. In some other places I pay $12 to $15 and the quantity and quality is on point. Because they are the only Colombian restaurant in the area, they believe they can charge what ever they want and serve tiny amounts.
September 17 · PsycheLMWe stopped here on our way to NYC and the service is great, very attentive and the food is really authentic Medellin food. If you are looking for authentic Medellin food this is the place to go.
June 22 · Alex OrtegaThe owner came to Arsenal Glass to do a little repair. He was so kind and brought us some empanadas. The empanadas are a 10/10. I would recommend!!!
