Patsy’s Pizzeria Introduce
Patsy's Pizzeria at 450 Dean Street is not just another pizza place in Brooklyn; it is a direct continuation of one of New York City’s most storied pizza traditions. For New Yorkers who value authentic, time-honored cooking methods, Patsy's offers a genuine taste of classic Italian-American cuisine, highlighted by their legendary coal-oven pizza.
The original Patsy’s Pizzeria was founded in East Harlem way back in 1933 by Pasquale “Patsy” Lancieri, and it quickly established itself as one of the city's foundational pizzerias, alongside names like Lombardi's and Totonno's. This deep-rooted history, stretching back almost a century, is what informs the quality you taste today. While the New York pizza scene is often a lively debate, Patsy’s reputation for thin-crust, coal-fired pies is undisputed, and the Brooklyn location carries that banner with pride. The intense, dry heat of the coal oven is what creates the perfect New York-style thin crust—crisp, slightly charred, and utterly delicious.
Beyond the iconic pizza, Patsy’s Pizzeria has curated a full Italian dining experience that caters to locals and groups seeking a cozy, yet trendy, spot for a great meal. From hearty pastas to classic meat and seafood entrées, the menu is built on comfort food principles, ensuring a satisfying visit whether you're grabbing a quick lunch or settling in for dinner. Local patrons consistently praise the quality of the ingredients and the speed and efficiency of the service, confirming that Patsy's remains a benchmark for New York Italian dining.

What is Worth Choosing
For first-time visitors or even seasoned New York pizza connoisseurs, the choices at Patsy's Pizzeria are plentiful, but certain items truly stand out and define the experience.
The absolute must-try is any of the Original Coal-Oven Pizzas. Start with the Cheese Pizza or the classic Margherita Pizza to fully appreciate the thin, crispy, coal-fired crust and the quality of the simple, fresh ingredients. For those seeking something more adventurous, the Bee Sting pizza, featuring Hot Soppressata and hot honey, is a modern twist that has gained popularity. The Alla Vodka Pizza, made with creamy vodka sauce, is also a highly-rated favorite.
Away from the oven, Patsy's excels in appetizers and pasta. A strong recommendation is the Supli, praised by a local reviewer as a "solid A" appetizer, which are fried rice balls with fontina cheese. The Ricotta Ravioli and the classic Spaghetti & Meatballs are superb choices from the Homemade Pasta menu, reflecting the rich, satisfying nature of genuine Southern Italian comfort food. The high-quality meats, such as the Meatball Parmigiana Hero, and the incredible freshness of the seafood, noted by a reviewer who called the calamari "incredible, perfectly cooked nice and crisp," also make a strong case for dining beyond just pizza. For a full Italian-American experience, do not skip the Entrées, with the Chicken Parmigiana and Eggplant Parmigiana being time-honored dishes.
Finally, as noted by enthusiastic patrons, one of the best ways to end your meal is with the Tiramisu. Patsy's commitment to freshness and quality, as highlighted in the customer praise, makes this classic dessert a memorable finale. Patsy's Pizzeria successfully marries the historical legacy of one of New York's oldest pizza institutions with the diverse dining demands of modern Brooklyn, making it a truly valuable culinary landmark for all New Yorkers.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Real coal fired pizza just like their flagship store in East Harlem. Fantastic! Funny thing, they warn you that a 20% automatic gratuity is applied for parties or two or more. So if you want to have your own say in the matter of tipping, dine by yourself. Lol. Regardless, definitely come here for the delicious pies!
August 25 · Drake MaxwellHonest, probably some of the best Italian food I’ve ever had outside of Italy. We started off with the supli which was a solid A. We also had the mozzarella sticks, which were great. My buddies got a half meat, half cheese pizza, and it was freaking delicious perfectly cooked crispy thin everything you could want. We got the ricotta ravioli, which is amazing. We also had the calamari which was incredible, perfectly cooked nice and crisp. The best part of the meal was at the end. We got the tiramisu and it was probably top five best tiramisu I’ve ever had nice and fresh moist plenty of espresso just absolutely delicious. The staff was super accommodating, quick efficient and knowledgeable. The menu was well laid out lots of options and an amazing value. The restaurant was clean lots of seating while stocked and tidy the bathroom was clean. I honestly cannot wait to go back. I had such a great time.

August 21 · Fawaz AlarbashLast minute we had to move the location of a large party due to an unexpected event. I called Patsy’s and they were great at helping me out. The party was mid afternoon and they seated us in the patio area, which is lovely. The food was great and the service was perfect. They have a an extensive menu it is hard to decide what to order. The wine list is not large but they have excellent choices. Sangria was very good.
August 31 · Janine ShermanWe went here for brunch on Sunday afternoon and had an enjoyable experience. The pear arugula garganzola salad was a pleasant surprise as was seafood pasta with squid ink spaghetti. The pizza comes out quick and was tasty, but not overwhelmingly good. Ordered the pasta fagoli soup, which has potential, but they ruined it by overwhelming it with oregano. Prices reasonable. Service attentive.
September 13 · Wayne BennettI went around 2-3 pm. Not many people inside. We was able to receive incredible service and excellent quality food. Chicken parm from this location is some of the best I've had. Definitely a must try at minimum. Pizza was great thin crust came out hot, with Smokey crispy crust. Excellent if you like it that way. Lasagna was good as well. Saucy with high quality noodle. I didn't get any drinks I should have. This spot is good for date night, low key...or a great place to have brunch with the family or friends. Lighting was slightly dim, the only thing I didn't love about the atmosphere but every thing else was great, I will be back in due time
