Philly Cheesesteaks Introduce
For New Jersey residents and travelers passing through the bustling Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), finding a satisfying meal before a flight is often a priority. Tucked within Terminal C, Philly Cheesesteaks offers a dedicated spot for American comfort food, focusing on the iconic sandwich that gives the restaurant its name. This establishment provides a taste of a regional favorite, making it a convenient stop for a quick bite during your journey. As an airport restaurant, it caters specifically to the needs of busy tourists and passengers looking for familiar and hearty options while navigating the airport's demanding environment.
The concept is straightforward: deliver classic cheesesteaks and related American fare with the speed and efficiency necessary for an airport setting. While operating under the unique pressures of an airport environment, which can sometimes lead to mixed customer experiences regarding service and wait times, the core focus remains on the food itself—namely, the thinly sliced steak or chicken served on a roll. For those craving a warm, substantial sandwich, Philly Cheesesteaks serves as a dependable, albeit perhaps bustling, choice in a limited-option setting. The menu ensures that even travelers with short layovers or pre-flight routines can quickly grab a meal.
The full range of menu items is designed to be easily prepared and consumed, centering around the signature sandwiches. Prices are typical of airport concessions, reflecting the convenience and captive audience of the location.

The primary draw to Philly Cheesesteaks is, unsurprisingly, its namesake sandwich. For travelers craving a substantial and classic American meal, the Philly Cheesesteak Cheesesteak ($14.59) and the Philly Cheesesteak Chicken Cheesesteak ($14.59) represent the best of the menu. These are the foundational items the restaurant is built upon.
For a complete, satisfying airport meal, pairing a sandwich with a side is highly recommended. The Philly Cheesesteak Cheese Fries ($5.75) offer that extra layer of comfort food goodness, while options like Philly Cheesesteak Crinkle Fries ($5.49), Philly Cheesesteak Onion Rings ($4.99), or Philly Cheesesteak Tater Tots ($5.49) provide diverse textures and flavors to complement the sandwich.
It is important for travelers to manage their expectations regarding the airport environment. While some customers have reported extended wait times and variations in sandwich preparation quality, others find the food to be a delicious and convenient option, especially for airport fare. The use of a kiosk ordering system can assist in streamlining the process. If time is a concern, utilizing the fast-service highlight by ordering takeout and allowing a reasonable buffer before boarding is advisable. Choosing this spot is choosing convenience and a specific type of hearty American comfort food—a satisfying, quick bite that helps pass the time before a flight out of New Jersey. For those new to the area or unfamiliar with local cheesesteak styles, it provides an accessible introduction to this popular regional sandwich. The ability to grab a beer or glass of wine with your meal also elevates the experience above typical fast-food offerings.
In conclusion, for travelers departing from EWR Terminal C who need a quick, filling meal, Philly Cheesesteaks offers a focused menu of classic cheesesteaks and American sides. It stands out as a reliable option for lunch or dinner, prioritizing comfort food and fast-paced service for the busy New Jersey air traveler.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Run! Don’t. Waited 25 mins for our order. First attempt, the cook did not chop up the quarter inch thick steak. Second attempt, waited another 25mins. Luckily they used the shaved ribeye. barely any meat and just layered the ingredients vs chop and mixed together.
September 10 · Steven FremgenGot the basic sandwich. It was okay, and tasted much better when I added salt. I didn’t have high expectations and this was about what I was hoping for for airport food. I got the sandwich about 10 minutes after I ordered it. The kiosk ordering system was helpful.
June 28 · Freddy MansourI should have looked at reviews before ordering, but in essence of time I just scanned the QR code and ordered. They are extremely slow, lose orders on the screen on front of them and don't know anything when you ask about the status of your order.Chicken philly was cooked right on top of the steak burnt pieces on the flattop grill. Didn't bother to scrape before cooking. Stood waiting for 20 minutes for the sandwich. They managed to lose my French fry order. That took another 20 minutes to get. This place and the burger place are both so mismanaged. Go anywhere else when in Newark.
October 15 · Anthony GilsonLet's address the elephant in the room.YES, the staff is a tad rude and probably under paid but my perspective is as follows...Some of the customers were a little feisty and being a traveler myself I can get a little grumpy or hangry when I'm tired an hungry, almost like a small child. 😆Not an excuse or a reason to be rude back to a paying customer right BUT to be fair I did hear some smug comments and pushy people talking crazy to the cook. As an employee of fast food or any burger joint and sandwich place you expect it all. I for one think the cook handled herself very well. AGAIN, YES, she was a tad rude BUT there was a crowd and only one cook with no helpers. People were asking her questions left and right or attempting to add or take away to their orders, myself included. (I asked for extra pickles) Her reply was the order doesn't come with pickles.Okay now to address the TIME. Yes. It takes forever to cook some burgers because they're not thin or frozen patties out of a box or bag, it's fresh ground beef. There was one man who asked if his was almost out and when told he had to wait like everyone else he was visibly upset and said"I HAVE A PLANE TO CATCH"... I thought that was comical because sir, we're all at the same airport.... We all have a flight to catch. 🤣 Anyways the cook handled herself very well and told him what number he was next in line. The food itself was great. I don't know what other people ordered that they gave the food such trash reviews but my burger was super yummy and SHE GAVE ME EXTRA PICKLES Y'ALL!!! ❤❤❤This wasn't my favorite burger joint but it wasn't awful. This place doesn't get 5 stars just because I feel that as an establishment that knows there's orders coming in non-stop they should know better than to hire one cook and expect them to run that burger joint all by themselves. The sandwich place connected to it had about 5-6 people there helping and doing stuff in the back. That's on them as a company not the cook as an employee. The cook never stopped cooking only once to bring more meat.Great job cook!! You handled yourself very well. I'm not brave enough to have your job or take all that heat. People are crazy and especially when hangry.**Hope my review was helpful.🙂
December 13 · Sundra DeleonI’d give negative stars if that were possible. We waited a ridiculous hour for a single sandwich, and when I asked what was going on—because our boarding had started—the staff was unbelievably rude. And after all that? The food was an absolute joke. The fries were practically raw, the sandwich was bland garbage. Easily the worst airport food I’ve ever had.
