The fried chicken is praised for its crispy and flavorful skin, while the grilled chicken is a popular alternative, offering a unique citrusy taste. Many people choose to get a combo to experience both and see which one they prefer. The two-piece meal with a side and a dinner roll is a classic choice and a great value.
But what truly makes the meal is the sides. The fried plantains and yuca fries are a must-try for their authentic flavor and texture. The Campero Rice and Campero Beans are also excellent, offering a savory and hearty complement to the chicken. And don't forget the beverages—the self-serve station with horchata and jamaica is a great way to add a refreshing and authentic touch to your meal. For a quick bite or a satisfying lunch, the classic chicken sandwich is a solid choice, offering a delicious, simple take on a fast-food staple.
Ultimately, what is worth choosing is a meal that allows you to experience the full range of flavors Pollo Campero has to offer. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Pollo Campero – 6th Ave, New YorkStopped by Pollo Campero on 6th Ave and was pleasantly surprised! They offer lots of food for a reasonable price and the seating inside is spacious and clean. Service was fast, friendly, and efficient, which made the experience even better. They had great deals—the 4-piece chicken meal was priced the same as the 3-piece! The fried chicken was crispy, flavorful, and definitely the highlight. Some of the other chicken varieties were just okay in comparison, but still decent. Fries were tasty and nicely seasoned.Overall, a good spot for a quick, filling meal in a convenient location. Would come back again for the fried chicken and value deals!
July 06 · Raj SPollo Campero offers entrees.Tried both grilled (only bone-in) and fried chicken. I prefer the grilled. Seasoned, citrusy taste on skin. The 2-piece meal with a side, dinner roll costs around $10; with white meat is +$1.90, so came out to around $12.Make sure to say grilled bec I was given fried at first ( I forgot to specify and also wasn't asked). Twice, there was also a little wait for the grilled. The fried bone-in chicken to me has a different flavor from other fast food fried chicken. Tasty, skin not crispy though. My family liked the classic chicken sandwich meal- fried, only with pickles, a side, around $10. Grilled wasn't an option for sandwiches.I like that the sides are not the typical fast-food options. There's fried yuca (good but some a bit fibrous), plantains, beans, rice to name a few. I like this place bec of the different sides actually. Better to get with a meal, since $4 already for a small portion.Self-serve drinks stations on both floors. There's also horchata (good, peanuty flavor, slightly sweet), jamaica (hibiscus), mango. On the app, added 2 empanadas to a meal for $2. With saucy Chicken, but will pass next time.Cholula hot sauce and ketchup on the tables. When dining in, food is brought to you and is served on a plate.Seating is available on both floors, 2nd floor has a larger area. We didn't appreciate though when an employee asked us to move from our table while waiting for our app order for another customer who ordered in-store, instead of opening up the closed section which he needed to do anyway since more customers came.Restrooms on both floors.Great location bec in Herald Square area. Will keep this place in mind as an option for a quick bite. The app is easy to use and offers rewards as well.
April 30 · K VCFirst off, there are many areas for dining. The restaurant is usually not crowded, therefore finding seats should not be a huge problem for customers. There are many ways to order: kiosks, over the counter, and even online. (Suggestion: pre-order online to pick up before you arrive to the restaurant so it would not take as long as it would waiting if you ordered physically. There is also no problem with sitting down after picking up your order.) We ordered a family 8 piece crispy chicken. The chicken was crispy and golden on the outside and on the inside it was moist and well done. The mac and cheese was deeeeelicious! Very creamy and flavorful and also well-seasoned. Also, try not to order the fries. Once they served us fries, it was very cold and hard and they did not serve a decent amount.
April 20 · Guess WhoHands down the best fried chicken of ALL the chicken chains! Food, drink, service and cleanliness was 10/10. A huge shoutout to employee Lorgia who was so kind during my first visit. Not only did she welcome me so kindly, she helped explain the options and provided recommendations and did it all with a smile. You rarely get service this great nowadays. Kudos to her!As for the food, the fried chicken is really delicious! The seasoning is quite unique and flavorful. I recommend it over the grilled chicken. You get several sides to choose from. I tried the plantains, rice, mac and cheese and yuca fries. They were all great and tasted really fresh which is surprising for a fast food chain. My only criticism would be that the sides are a little pricey for the size, nonetheless, they’re good. As for the drinks, they offer a variety of juices like Horchata (Rice, Cinnamon, Milk), Jamaica (Hibiscus) and Peach Mango, along with a wide selection of sodas to choose from. I went with Peach and Mango which was great as it was not too sweet and paired right with my food. And finally, in regards to the cleanliness: the restaurant was spotless. There was a very nice gentleman who was doing table service, cleaning, and checking up on guests. He was on top of things and did a great job maintaining great service on the floor.Overall, I’m more than impressed. Food, cleanliness, service, drink, and attention surpassed my expectations. I didn’t expect this to be this good but it did so I’ll certainly be coming back. I highly recommend you visit!
