Public Display of Affection Introduce
Located on the vibrant border of Brooklyn’s Park Slope and Gowanus neighborhoods, Public Display of Affection, affectionately known as PDA, is more than just a pizza place. It's a charming and cozy restaurant that has quickly become a local favorite. Opened by Chef Rob Guimond and his sister Emi Guimond, PDA brings a unique, veggie-focused approach to classic Italian and American fare. The atmosphere is warm, intimate, and family-friendly, with a rustic-industrial design that makes guests feel right at home. It’s a place where you can relax, enjoy a great meal, and truly connect with your company, making the name "Public Display of Affection" ring true to its mission.
The menu at PDA is a thoughtfully curated selection of dishes that goes well beyond the average pizza joint. The heart of the restaurant is its wood-burning oven, which is on full display from the dining area and is responsible for producing their standout Neapolitan and Detroit-style pizzas. The classic "Cheese Pizza" and "Pepperoni Pizza" are fan favorites, with a perfectly chewy crust and fresh, high-quality ingredients. For those seeking something different, the "Spicy Meatball Pizza" offers a delicious kick. What truly sets PDA apart is its dedication to plant-based options, offering both "Vegan Red" and "Vegan White" pizzas, along with numerous vegetarian choices.
But the food experience doesn't stop at pizza. The menu features an impressive array of vegetable-forward dishes and small plates, perfect for sharing. Start your meal with the perfectly charred "Shishitos Peppers," the wonderfully crispy and cheesy "Arancini," or a refreshing "Kale Caesar" salad. The restaurant also offers a full bar with a solid selection of drinks, including local craft beers, a great wine list, and creative house cocktails. Whether you're in the mood for an "Espresso Martini" or a classic "Old Fashioned," PDA has you covered. They also have a popular brunch menu on Saturdays and Sundays, featuring items like a "Plain Breakfast Burrito" and "Sourdough Pancake."
The commitment to a welcoming and inclusive environment is another highlight of PDA. As a space that is LGBTQ+ friendly and a transgender safe space, it fosters a sense of community. The service is often noted for being fast and attentive, adding to the overall pleasant dining experience. This Brooklyn gem is popular for lunch, dinner, and solo dining, and also offers catering services for events. From a quick slice to a full-on dinner party, PDA caters to various needs with its flexible service options and inviting ambiance.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Very cozy intimate spot with more outdoor seating than indoors. Place is decorated with lots of kitschy knick knacks including a bathroom tip box. Service was fast, like the pasta and Commish pizza. Unfortunately for the BLT pizza the kale was burnt to a crisp detracting from the flavor. Pies were good otherwise.
April 09 · Jia SunThis place is adorable! I’m a sucker for good curbside seating and PDA has a great outdoor space. The interior is cozy but has a great homey feel and full view of the brick iron oven pumping out pizza after pizza.Note: the bathroom sink is operated by pedal - don’t look for the knobs lol.Ok food: the shoshito peppers came out perfectly charred, the arancini are wonderfully crisp and cheesy with an unexpected yet not overwhelming bite (of spicy). We had the sun gold & oyster mushroom pizza - YUM! Perfectly thin Neapolitan pizza with the perfect layer of toppings to keep it from getting soggy. The no-bake cookies with an espresso top off the meal ideally.Definitely enjoyed this Brooklyn gem, and happen to think the name of this place is brilliant! 🫶
September 15 · Amanda ElkoumiI was passing this place for a quiet some time, but at last had an opportunity to dinner there. It looked bigger from the outside, but it didn't affect my experience. I have read reviews and ordered their famous chicken wings, which were really good. Also, I had a shishito peppers that were very good, too, and the portion was quite generous. I had kale salad, and of course, their pizza. I had white pizza, and I almost singlehandedly finished the whole pie.The service was good too and our waitress was very friendly. The only complaint that I would have thst they better wash their greens, so I it won't have a sand in the salad. But overall, I had a pleasant experience and will be back to try more of their dishes.
June 25 · Alex SerebrovPDA has some of the best shishito peppers ive ever had. Whatever they put on it is sooo good. Their wings are also really good. I have had their pesto pasta twice and it was great the first time but unsalted the second time. Their pizza is good as well. The only thing i find to be meh is their cocktails. I’d stick to non alcoholic or wine. But definitely a place worth trying and coming back to.
June 05 · Rene BleasdilleThe food here is absolutely incredible. Their pizzas have great texture and an abundance of toppings. I love their wide silent ion of veggie sides and vegan pizzas. Portions are on point. Can’t wait to come back!
