★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Wonderful experience. Learned a lot about tea and really recommend this experience if you want a meditative and calm experience. I asked to take a photo of the tea offering space. Overall very respectful experience if you come in with respect.
June 06 · LylaHad a great experience here. My sister and I went in to enjoy some quality tea and were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere—very zen, unique, artistic. It’s well curated. We inquired about the tea menu and the staff took the time to explain the various tea varieties and options. We selected a tea from a 100+ year old tea tree. We carried the expectation that we’d get a sampling of teas based on our experience of other tea shops, but only had a single tea here which we still really enjoyed. While some of the teas are pricey, the prices are listed so not sure why people are upset by it.
November 16 · Sasha LeeImmaculately curated space with high quality teas at all price points. Well worth a visit if seeking a respite from the bustle of NYC or if interested in gong fu steeping. This venue stands out as a singular gem in a city that expects rarefied offerings as commonplace.
August 07 · Patrick AndersonFirst, the photos of the place are dated and do not reflect its transformation into a true art space over the years. Second, ignore one star comments. This place set its boundaries and demands respect for a reason. After 6-9 ceremony cups of uninterrupted puerh bliss you’ll get it.
August 31 · Andrey BtwThe tea is good, but the energy here is condescending and oddly self-important.I understand and respect the rules around photography, but the way it’s enforced feels less about preserving sacredness and more about shaming people for being too shallow to appreciate what the store offers. Before the owner replies with the usual character judgement or passive aggressive response (as he often does), I’ll just say this: when so many people walk away feeling unwelcome, it’s worth asking why. Sometimes it’s not about defending your ego. Sometimes it’s about asking whether you’re creating a space that welcomes curiosity or one that feels hostile to anyone who doesn’t already “get it”.
