What is worth choosing
Choosing Raoul's is an excellent decision for anyone seeking a truly special and memorable dining experience in New York City. The primary reason it is worth choosing is the quality of its food, particularly the iconic and "exceptional" Steak au Poivre. As one reviewer noted, the steak is "seared to perfection and served with a luscious peppercorn sauce, rich and flavorful," a sentiment that captures the essence of the dish. The consistency and excellence of the cuisine, from the "perfectly chilled" oysters to the "golden and crispy" schnitzel, are reasons why it's a place patrons return to again and again. The presence of a vibrant and delicious brunch menu, with standout dishes like the "Soufflé Pancake" and "Raoul's Burger au Poivre," provides another excellent opportunity to experience the restaurant's culinary prowess.

The fact that it's a "50-year-old NYC legend that is still hot and vibrant" is perhaps the most compelling reason of all to visit. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Spectacular meal again at Raoul's. Third time and still a charm. The steak au poivre is exceptional. Soft shell crabs excellent. Chilled cucumber soup was very refreshing and had huge chunks of lobster. Noise level is loud which is part of the fun at a 50 year old NYC legend that is still hot and vibrant.
September 07 · Rick GoulburnI had the pleasure of visiting Raoul in New York City this past Sunday for brunch, securing a last-minute reservation at 11:45 AM. From the moment we were seated, the experience felt effortlessly chic, reminiscent of a stylish Parisian café, blending casual sophistication with impeccable service. To start, we enjoyed the Oysters du Jour, beautifully presented and perfectly chilled, showcasing the restaurant’s commitment to high-quality seafood. For the mains, I chose the Holstein Organic Chicken Schnitzel, golden and crispy on the outside while tender and juicy within—comforting yet elevated. My companion had the Steak au Poivre, seared to perfection and served with a luscious peppercorn sauce, rich and flavorful. Our beverage selections enhanced the meal further: a glass of red wine paired seamlessly with the steak, while a classic mimosa added a refreshing, celebratory touch to the brunch setting. For dessert, we indulged in the Sticky Banana Pudding, a decadent, moist, and perfectly balanced sweet treat that felt like the ideal conclusion to the meal.Dining at Raoul felt like a brief escape to Paris. The combination of thoughtfully executed dishes, elegant presentation, and attentive service created a brunch experience that is both memorable and effortlessly sophisticated. Raoul is a standout destination for those seeking classic French-inspired cuisine with a modern New York energy.
September 10 · Leighton VignolaA wonderful evening with the consistently delicious food Raoul’s is known for. Cocktails were spot-on, the dishes were spectacular, and we ended on a sweet note with an excellent crème brûlée — the perfect finale. The only unexpected twist came at the end, when our check included an extra $120… apparently from a neighboring table of five. A bold move — or maybe just a test to see if we were paying attention. In any case, I’ll chalk it up to an honest mistake. Raoul’s remains a favorite, and I’d happily return — just with a quick double-check of the bill.
July 21 · Arturo QuinonezVisiting my brother and he recommended bringing me here, let me just say BEST DECISION EVER!!! The food was top tier. I order the steak (medium rare) and let me just say this is the best steak! So juicy and with so much flavor as well at the mashed potatoes. Everyone here is also super friendly, I will definitely be coming back for more next time ☺️
August 31 · Brenda HernandezLocated in SoHo, this Classic French Bistro founded in 1975 has been offering outstanding French-American cuisine including Pate Maison, fresh cold Artichoke salad and its signature Steak Au Poivre with perfect Frites. A must for dessert are their Banana Bread Pudding and the Chocolate Profiteroles. Service is excellent. Highly recommended!
