Matchaful Introduce
In a city fueled by coffee, finding a cafe that offers a refreshing and mindful alternative is a true delight. Matchaful, a women-owned cafe in the vibrant SoHo neighborhood, has done just that, establishing itself as a premier destination for matcha enthusiasts and health-conscious New Yorkers. More than just a cafe, Matchaful is a peaceful haven dedicated to the art of matcha, bringing a serene and modern Japanese-inspired touch to Manhattan's bustling streets. This article will provide a comprehensive guide to Matchaful, exploring its unique offerings, cozy atmosphere, and commitment to providing a nourishing experience for both the mind and body.
Matchaful's philosophy is rooted in the power of botanicals and sustainable sourcing. They are a purveyor of high-quality, ceremonial-grade matcha, which they hand-whisk to order. This dedication to quality is evident in every sip, with customers frequently praising the smooth, creamy, and non-bitter taste of their matcha. But the menu goes far beyond a simple matcha latte. The cafe is known for its "alchemic matcha lattes," which combine their premium green tea powder with organic adaptogens, superfoods, and thoughtfully-sourced plant-based ingredients. From a "Soothing Strawberry" to a "Wise Warrior," each drink is crafted for a specific benefit, whether it's for energy, calm, or immunity.
The atmosphere at Matchaful is a key part of its appeal. The space is described as casual, cozy, and trendy, with a sleek interior and minimalist touches. This clean, inviting design creates a calm and aesthetic environment that's perfect for a moment of pause in the middle of a busy day. It’s a place that attracts a diverse crowd, from college students looking for a study spot with Wi-Fi to tourists seeking a unique and healthy New York experience. The fact that it is a women-owned business further adds to its appeal, highlighting a commitment to community and empowerment.
Matchaful is located in the heart of SoHo at 184 Prince St, New York, NY 10012, USA. This prime address places it in one of the city's most fashionable and foot-traffic-heavy neighborhoods. SoHo is renowned for its charming cobblestone streets, artistic vibe, and countless boutiques, making Matchaful a convenient and perfect stop during a shopping trip or a leisurely walk.
The cafe is easily accessible via public transportation, with several subway stations located within a short walking distance. The area is served by the N, R, W, and Q trains at Prince Street and the A, C, E, B, D, F, and M trains at Broadway-Lafayette Street, providing multiple options for visitors from different parts of the city. While the space itself can be "a bit of a cramped space" according to some customers, its central location makes it a worthwhile destination.
For those with pets, Matchaful offers a welcome feature: dogs are allowed outside. While you can't bring your furry friend inside the cafe, this policy allows for a quick, leashed stop to grab a drink to go. The cafe also has a wheelchair accessible entrance, ensuring that it is a welcoming space for all members of the community.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We visited August 2025. It's a bit of a cramped space. I think they would be better off by adding single bar seating around the perimeter. While the current table is beautiful, it makes the current space incommodious. Other then that, sleek interior with minimalist touches.Yuzu and pistachio donut. Both have a hard glaze. Which is slightly surprising. Perhaps some prefer a hard glaze but I find it weird on donuts. The yuzu could be stronger. The chocolate on the pistachio is nice.Indigo glow - Love the taro. Hikari ceremonial matcha is nice. Good earthy tone with a nice astringency to balance out the sweetness of the rest of the drink. The maqui berry is unique but I honestly wouldn't order it again.
September 15 · Tiffany RuppThe matcha was absolutely delicious and the menu has such a great variety. The only thing I’d suggest is offering the option to serve drinks in regular mugs too, instead of just disposable cups—it would make the experience even better!
September 06 · nazanin vaziriThe matcha here is packed with bold, authentic flavor—just what I wanted. I tried the Straight Up Double Matcha Cold Foam and Pistachio Rose Cardamom Cake. The cake was rich and moist, but not overly heavy, making it the perfect treat. Everything was so good I’ll definitely come back whenever I’m craving matcha! 🍵
April 12 · Selina LWow! The poster outside the cafe caught my eye! They had vegan matcha and earth serve (soft serves in a cup)That sounded delicious 😋Went inside to enquire about the 2 new vegan flavors. The staff kindly told us about the ingredients in both flavors. We decided to go with earth glow serve, which was purple blue in color, small cup with cacao nibs. It was heavenly 😍 not too sweet, just perfect on a hot day! So fresh and delicious in every bite.
June 03 · roma mangwaniMatcha oriented place with healthy options of snacks. Availability to sit outside and inside. Spent some time there reading the book on weekend brunch. Matcha tasted great. Chia dessert with raspberry was perfectly balanced.
