★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I went to Rincón Melania yesterday with my wife, my parents, and my sister for dinner. My wife and I had been there once before and convinced my mother, a native Ecuadorian, to come try the food. We ordered the grilled octopus and bolon mixto as appetizers. Both were really great. My sister and I I enjoyed a drink similar to a margarita (forgot the name), which was also good. As an entree, my wife ordered the enecebollado de pescado (fish soup made of tuna), which she loved. I tried it and loved it too. It was filling and she brought home the leftovers. I had la bandera, which was good, but not mind blowing. The rice was great; but I thought the goat was mostly bones. I had substituted the tripe for hen, and thought that was mostly bones too. The ceviche was REALLY good. For dessert, we ordered the flan and chocolate mousse. The flan was very bland, but the chocolate mousse was great. I honestly wish I had tried the caldo de bola. We had ordered it the first time and I loved it so much. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! The service is great here and they let you dance salsa :) We’ll be back!
