When you visit Sanmiwago, you're faced with a menu of enticing Taiwanese delights, but a few dishes truly stand out as must-tries. The dumplings, whether boiled or pan-fried, are the star of the show. The Signature Pork with Yellow Chive (8pcs) is a popular choice for boiled dumplings, offering a perfect blend of savory pork and fragrant chive. However, for a truly crispy and flavorful experience, the Corn with Pork (8pcs) pan-fried dumplings are highly recommended. Another absolute highlight is the Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup. Described as the house special, this dish is a bowl of pure comfort. It features tender, well-cooked beef, carrots, and radishes that have fully absorbed the rich, savory broth. It's the perfect meal for a chilly day and a testament to Sanmiwago's commitment to authentic flavors. The Taiwanese Braised Pork Rice Bowl is another solid choice, offering tender, slow-cooked pork over rice, a classic Taiwanese staple that's both hearty and delicious. For a refreshing end to your meal, the Mango Sago dessert is a light and sweet option. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Sanmiwago took a moment to find--tucked inside Mott Street Eatery, a bustling little food hall--but once we spotted it, we couldn't wait to try their Taiwanese dumplings. The woman at the counter was incredibly sweet and welcoming. I loved that she spoke both Cantonese and Mandarin (and likely English too), which made the experience feel warm and familiar. We asked for her recommendation, and she suggested the pork and chive pan-fried dumplings--which turned out to be absolutely delicious. They had a crisp, golden bottom and were bursting with flavor. To our surprise, the dumpling order even came with a little cup of egg drop soup, which was such a sweet and satisfying touch. We also tried the beef noodle soup, which was rich, comforting, and perfect for the chilly, rainy day we visited. The vibe at Mott Street Eatery is very community-centered, with large shared tables that seat five or more. Seating is limited, so don't be surprised if a stranger ends up at your table--but honestly, that just adds to the charm. It's a lovely reminder of how food can bring people together. If you're in the mood for Taiwanese comfort food in a casual, welcoming setting, Sanmiwago is a hidden gem worth finding.
June 12 · Fiona LThe cashier lady recommended the Taiwanese style beef noodle soup as the house special, and it was really good. The beef, radishes, and carrots were well cooked - super tender and absorbed the soup flavor. If you like beef brisket with tendon, you should try it.The only thing is the soup was a little too sweet for me, but that could the Taiwanese style. My friends ordered pork chive dumplings. They looked amazing - well seasoned with chili and sauces.
March 23 · Mengting HuangWent there on a Saturday at noon—no need to wait in line. The service was slow, and the food wasn’t authentic or good quality. We ordered the braised pork rice, braised duck rice, and dumplings. The dumplings were okay, but they didn’t offer any vinegar. The duck and pork were extremely fatty and didn’t taste good at all.Take your money elsewhere. Next time, I’ll just go for a Vietnamese sandwich instead.
March 29 · KenkenThe atmosphere at 98 Mott Street is a nice communal one good for big groups. I wanted to try the veggie dumpling- and asked for pan fried. They came with sauce and toppings which made them the best decorated veggie dumpling I ever had. The staff at Sanmiwago were very nice and friendly.
June 23 · Sapphira BellaOne order comes with 8 pretty large dumplings for an amazing price, & a nice warm cup of soup to sweeten the deal! Definitely worth the small wait for fresh dumplings.
