Shogun Hibachi Introduce
In the vibrant borough of Queens, where diverse culinary options abound, Shogun Hibachi stands out as a premier destination for Japanese and Asian cuisine enthusiasts. Located in the heart of Forest Hills, this establishment is more than just a restaurant; it’s an entertainment experience, specializing in the interactive and exciting art of hibachi cooking, complemented by a dedicated sushi bar offering an extensive array of fresh rolls and sashimi.
Shogun Hibachi is a true gem for New Yorkers looking for a fun night out, a casual family dinner, or simply high-quality Japanese food. Customers consistently praise the restaurant for its excellent food, lively atmosphere, and warm, attentive service—a combination that keeps locals returning time and again. The restaurant successfully merges the spectacle of a hibachi steakhouse with the tradition of a sophisticated sushi spot, offering a dynamic and satisfying dining journey for every guest.
Beyond the food, Shogun Hibachi holds a unique place in local history. Patrons may be interested to know the location was once the site of the famous Suite Lounge, which has its own fascinating, albeit notorious, history. Today, it serves up perfectly cooked filet mignon and expertly rolled sushi instead of old-school drama, making it a comfortable and welcoming spot for the modern-day Queens crowd.
Shogun Hibachi enjoys a prime, easily accessible location at 111-16 Queens Blvd in Forest Hills, NY 11375, USA. Situated on a main thoroughfare, the restaurant is conveniently placed for residents across Queens and the greater New York City area.
For visitors driving to the location, the restaurant offers the convenience of both free street parking and paid street parking options nearby, which is a significant amenity in the often-busy streets of Forest Hills. For those relying on public transportation, the central Queens Boulevard location is well-served by numerous bus lines and is near subway access, making it a simple trip from most parts of the city.

This is perfect for families, groups, and anyone seeking a fun, memorable meal.

For first-time visitors or returning regulars seeking the best of what Shogun Hibachi offers, the menu presents a wealth of excellent choices, combining both the entertainment of the grill and the freshness of the sushi bar. The primary draw remains the hibachi, which is an experience in itself.
A top recommendation is the Hibachi Land & Sea combination platters. The Steak & Shrimp ($24.95) and the customer-favorite Filet Mignon & Chicken ($25.95) are both highly praised for their quality and consistent preparation. These hibachi dinners are comprehensive meals, typically served with Japanese onion soup, a green salad, a shrimp appetizer, vegetables, steamed rice, and egg noodles, offering exceptional value. If you prefer seafood, the Lobster Tail, Shrimp & Scallop combination ($32.99) is a perfect indulgence, or you can opt for the perfectly grilled Hibachi Salmon ($20.99).
From the extensive sushi offerings, the Shogun Special Rolls are a must-try. The Mountain Roll ($9.95), featuring shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, avocado, and crunch, is a flavorful and texturally exciting choice. For a more traditional experience, the Regular Sushi Dinner ($15.99) is a popular and cost-effective option, including 7 pieces of assorted sushi and a California roll.
Don't forget to explore the appetizers before your main course. The Dynamite appetizer ($8.50), which is oven-baked oyster mushrooms, scallop, and crab, is a rich and savory start to the meal. Whether you are craving the spectacle of the hibachi fire show or the subtle artistry of a fresh sushi roll, Shogun Hibachi delivers on all fronts, cementing its reputation as a must-visit Asian restaurant in the Forest Hills neighborhood of Queens.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I've eaten out quite a bit and this has to be some of the best food I've had, the service was great, the chef was entertaining, even my picky eater 14 year old liked the food. I highly recommend this place. On a side note, this was once famous gangster Henry Hill's ( of Goodfellas fame) Suite Lounge back in the late '60s thru early '70s where Billy Batts was murdered.
September 18 · Adam LindenbaumI absolutely love coming here. The food, service, and drinks are all fantastic, and the hibachi entertainment is always a blast. The management is incredibly kind and welcoming—they always remember us, which makes every visit feel special. Our go-to order is the filet mignon and chicken, which is consistently cooked to perfection. I've brought family here for their first hibachi experience, and they've all loved it. The cocktails are well-made and reasonably priced (plus they’re not stingy with the alcohol - which is a plus!) Overall, it's a great value for the money and a great time thanks to the hard-working and kind staff. Plus, the restaurant is always impeccably clean. Shoutout to Mr. Lee!
August 11 · Billy RodriguezFood was good, service was good, ambiance is good. Plenty of seating - 2 options Hibachi side and non regular side. Prices reasonable.
September 05 · Kalpa TaruMy friend and I ate here last night for the first and last time. I should have known we were in for something interesting when the chef came out and gave this mystery brown liquid instead of the typical white. I believe it was their "house made sauce" and we were never explained what it was. Ginger sauce was fine.Mushroom soup had a very weird aftertaste and my friend and I stopped after one spoonful as we were worried it was going bad.Ordered a baby octopus appetizer that they forgot about until about 75% of the way through the meal.My friend ordered the chicken hibachi and it was incredibly overcooked. No flavor. Hibachi noodles were cooked on the grill for maybe a minute before the chef put them on the plate. Both the noodles and the fried rice were so bland. The table next to us actually asked for salt for their food.Chef didn't seem to notice how to manage the grill because he left the shrimp on the grill for like 8 minutes before serving them fo us, leaving the shrimp incredibly overcooked and impossible eat.I ordered steak and scallops and I asked for steak medium rare, it was barely served medium. Scallops were overcooked and chewy. The only thing my friend and I enjoyed were the two fishbowl cocktails we had, which helped make the experience at this restaurant slightly better. We were also absolutely dying at the decor in the restaurant, especially the giant wall art of the volcano fire that was hanging above the very visible microwave.
June 07 · Renee BFood was okay. One of my rolls tasted slightly fishy, which is not a positive on the fish side. The miso soup was good, the garden salad was okay as well. I did enjoy the house sake. Service was also really good. I just wish the sushi was of better quality. The environment was nice and quiet with decent music in the background.Update: Ended up getting food poisoning and had to leave work early due to the side effects associated with food poisoning. Won’t be returning here.
