★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We took advantage of NYC restaurant week to visit this establishment, for lunch, on a Saturday afternoon. The food was absolutely incredible, such flavor. The service was excellent. They also have an impressive selection of original and creative cocktails. We would definitely return!
August 17 · Rose CalimanoHad high expectations going into the place because I heard great things about this restaurant. It is pretty popular and famous. The food was good, maybe even great Indian food. Don’t get it wrong but I think my expectations were just too high. It felt like decent Indian food where I was expecting something spectacular. The dishes didn’t really stand out. The service and atmosphere were nice. Also ate with my uncle who is cool. My Beli gave it a 7.5 and I think this is accurate for Indian food but might put it a bit lower just because I’m not the biggest fan of Indian food. I do like it but I feel like it can get repetitive and I with there was more meat in the dishes. Overall, solid spot.
June 10 · Alex YangIf one word could describe my experience at Tamarind Tribeca, it would be “wow.”Tamarind is included in the Michelin Guide. It received a Michelin star when it was located in the Flatiron district. We started with the mushroom and truffle oil naan. Are you familiar with “manna” from the Bible? It was the miraculous and heavenly bread that G-d sent to the Israelites when they were in the desert before entering the Promised Land. This heavenly bread was light and almost hovered on top of the ground. The mushroom and truffle oil naan is as close to manna as I think I’m going to get. Heavenly and divine. We also ordered the Baghare Baingan (eggplant) and Chana Pindi (chickpeas). The Baghare Baingan was like nothing else I’ve ever had in my life. The eggplant is cooked so delicately and airy, that it almost melts in your mouth with the most savory and aromatic sauce. The Chana Pindi, while more hearty than the eggplant, also bursts with flavor and I may have said to my husband that “I could drink that sauce.”We ordered the Milagu Curry (lamb) and the Hasiru Samudra (sea bass). The Milagu Curry was as flavorful as one could imagine with a tomato and coconut and spicy sauce. The lamb was falling apart. The Hasiru Samudra was the most delicate sea bass I’ve tasted with a green herb crust that was absolutely incredible. It lays on a tomato sauce that adds a bit of sweet to the savory dish.In addition to the Michelin quality dishes, the service was impeccable. The servers “crumb” the table in between courses and they refill your glass faster than you could yourself. An added bonus is the bathrooms are immaculate. Not always easy to find in the city, even in the most exquisite restaurants.5 stars for food, service, and ambiance. A true gem.
July 02 · Angela Cooperman-GalperLoved the food and ambience. We ordered appetizer samosa and they gave complementary pakoras . Loved the naans and got free dessert for birthday. It was super clean and staff was very responsive and made sure we got everything on time . Loved it .
August 25 · Divya Kataria RealtorKind staff. Lot of vegetarian options., Taste was good, if your hungry may taste even better. Not a bad choice if you wish to try, just that the taste / spice levels can be improved.
