What is Worth Choosing
When deciding what to try at TAMASHA Indian Eats, the breadth of the menu means there is something for every craving. However, the restaurant truly shines in two key areas: customizable bowls and authentic Indian street food.
For a fully satisfying and customizable meal, the Build Your Own Bowl is a top recommendation. It allows you to select your base (like Basmati Rice or greens), a protein or vegetable base (like Chicken Tikka, Saag Paneer, or Tofu Temptations), and an array of toppings and chutneys for a fresh, balanced, and complete Indian meal. The Signature Dishes like the 'Talk Tikka To Me' bowl or the 'Royal Lamb Bowl' are excellent pre-curated options if you prefer the chef’s recommendation.
For those looking to explore true regional Indian snacks, venturing into the Street Specials is a must. Options like the Vada Pav (a potato fritter in a bun, the 'Indian burger') and Samosa Chaat (a deconstructed, tangy, and crunchy samosa dish) are the heart of the restaurant's offering and are often hard to find at standard Indian restaurants in New Jersey. Customers consistently rate these items highly for their authenticity and bold flavors.
Finally, the classic Butter Chicken and Chicken Tikka Masala are prepared with depth of flavor, ensuring that those who prefer traditional North Indian favorites will be equally delighted. Whether you are a dedicated vegetarian, a fan of Halal meat, or simply seeking a fresh, high-quality, and reasonably priced meal, TAMASHA Indian Eats delivers a memorable culinary experience right here in Nutley, NJ.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Discovered this cute gem in Nutley. Great for take out Indian street food like vada pav, samosa chat, dabeli, Bombay sandwich, chole bhature, pav bhaji and more. We didn’t try non veg but their predations were good for veg options so non veg may also be good.Food prices were very reasonable for the portion size.Seating and parking are limited so take out is a better option.Just a suggestion for the store to streamline the dine in vs take out concept. The staff are not regular waiters so just be prepared to fetch your food or throw away the take out boxes yourself.Which is totally fine, but was a bit confusing for us. The staff is very sweet though and very accommodating to our requests.
September 27 · Shruti SinhaThe food is amazing!! The food portions were pretty large for the relatively low price per person. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I have also ordered from here online and the food portions are exactly the same and just as fresh! I will definitely be coming back for more :)
June 19 · Amihan MedinaWe had samosa chaat and a bowl. Both were good in taste. I would say little less quantity in the bowl but overall worth the price and will visit again.
September 20 · R KI had the chance to try out this new Indian restaurant that just opened up, and wow—it absolutely delivered! Every dish was packed with flavor, and the experience left me already planning my next visit. The dahi puri was a standout starter—crisp, creamy, tangy, and bursting with flavor. You could taste every layer: the spices, the chutneys, the fresh veggies. It was truly an explosion of flavor in every bite. The butter chicken was hands-down the best I’ve had in the area. The meat was perfectly cooked—soft, tender, and slightly charred for that smoky depth—and the sauce was rich, creamy, and full of spice without being overpowering.I also tried the chikoo shake, which was a surprising highlight! It had the perfect balance of fruit and milk—not too thick or too sweet—just smooth, fresh, and super refreshing.Overall, this place has quickly become my new favorite Indian spot. The food was flavorful and authentic, and you can tell the chefs put a lot of care into each dish. Highly recommend checking it out—I’ll definitely be going back often!
July 04 · Jennifer D.Food ordered :1) Spicy Chilli Chicken Tandoori Bowl - Instead of plain basmati rice, suggesting to use shorter grained yellow rice. And I had a feeling like eating a gravy they serve on flight meals, which can be made better in that sense... , and the gravy's Chicken pieces can be cut smaller; They were quite big chunks.. The small dhals ontop kinda spoilt the taste in my first few bites.. that crunchiness was also a bit soggy in some bites so it didnt go well. The salads were good.Overall, the Bowl items that could be a little more warmer but such an innovative attempt to recreate indianised Chipotle.2) Chikko Milkshake - Was top notch , and would repeat that order probably every time we go pass that street !3) Brussels Sprouts Honey Bowl - A straight no, except for the dip they gave which was good. The Sprouts were hard to chew even though they were close to an over - roasted colour. I had to bring it back home, soak all the Sprouts in their sauce and eat the next day to eat it comfortably.Ambience was good.Quite satisfactory for the first time eating here. Hope my feedbacks can be taken into account and made better the next time I come over for a meal.
