What is Worth Choosing
For New Yorkers and international visitors in JFK Terminal 1, choosing Taste NY Bar is primarily worth it for its
convenient location
and the opportunity to enjoyNew York State-produced beverages
. The major draw is the chance to have a well-made cocktail or a locally sourced craft beer/wine right before a flight, often appreciated as a final toast to New York. The bar’sFast service
model is beneficial for travelers with tight schedules, and the reported excellent performance of the service staff—who are praised for beingnice
and hustling—is a significant plus in a typically stressful airport environment. However, patrons must manage their expectations regarding the food and pricing. Customer feedback consistently indicates that the
food is often of low quality (cold, chewy, tasteless)
and served in a basic, disposable manner (e.g., on paper plates). Furthermore, the pricing is typical of airport venues, which means it isexpensive
. Therefore, New Yorkers should choose Taste NY Bar specifically for itsalcohol offerings
—particularly the New York craft beverages and cocktails—and thecasual, last-minute convenience
, but should consider other terminal options for a substantial, high-quality, or reasonably priced meal. The commitment to local New York products remains its most compelling reason to visit.Taste NY Details

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Food is disgusting, literally you’re better off buying snacks or premade sandwich that the stores sell. It was cold, served on a paper plate, uncomfortably chewy, and honestly worst cafeteria food. Tasteless, hard, disgusting. Do not get food here, you’re wasting you money.Server was nice.
July 14 · Raymond BernardoWelcome to Taste NY in JFK. Hahaha I have to laugh. How did i just spend $163 for a little Caesar salad, chicken sandwich basic chips and a few drinks in a little open seating cafe space in the airport....with plastic utensils? Thankfully the espresso martini was good! I have to say I give our waiter 5 stars for great service he was seriously hustling I was happy to pay his gratuity! Im not one to ever pay that much attention to prices but this was a surprise. Love the extra 3 percent employee retention charge too. Gotta love New York
August 30 · How it is LizWorst Caesar salad of my life, chicken was somehow raw and overcooked. Dressing flavorless. lettuce limp and pathetic. I told two parties who sat down after me to leave bc the food was so bad
September 21 · Isaac SantelliWorst place in JFK. 60$ for 2 hot dog with fries that got some kind of curry or something. Over 1 hour waiting, for 2 hot dogs. The dog had ketchup and nasty mustard on it. Very slow, very expensive, very low low quality food. Avoid this place, the next shop has hot dogs for 6.88$. Don’t be stupid like us, read the reviews and move to another place.
May 03 · Stefano FurlanStay away from the veggie burger! Slimy and falls apart in 2 minutes.Atmosphere? Bad radio music will bore holes in your brain. Competing music between the cooking area and bar area!If your here to get drunk, it's the perfect place.
