Temple Bar Introduce
In a city that prides itself on its legendary nightlife, certain establishments hold a special place for their timeless appeal and classic elegance. Temple Bar, nestled on Lafayette Street, is one such place. It’s a bar that is not just about serving drinks; it’s about creating an atmosphere—a "total vibe" as one customer aptly put it. With its dark, dim-lit interiors, Temple Bar offers a sexy and sophisticated space that feels both cozy and trendy. For New Yorkers seeking a classic cocktail experience away from the city's chaotic energy, this is a destination that feels both like a secret find and a well-loved institution.
As a professional content writer specializing in local business SEO, my goal is to highlight what makes Temple Bar a premier choice for a night out. Its reputation is built on a few key pillars: superb service, expertly crafted cocktails, and an atmosphere that draws a dedicated local crowd. This isn't a bar for tourists who want a generic experience; it's a place for those who appreciate the art of mixology and the comfort of a welcoming, high-end environment.
The bar’s identity is clearly defined. It's a classic cocktail bar, and its patrons understand this. The focus is on quality over quantity, with a concise but refined menu that complements the sophisticated drinks. The bar team is described as fast, knowledgeable, and cordial, ensuring that every cocktail is executed to perfection. The service extends beyond the bar, with staff members like Disco the bouncer making guests feel welcome and safe, adding a layer of comfort and security that is highly valued by customers.
Temple Bar is a place for locals, and this is a significant part of its charm. It has a community feel, a place where regulars are known and new faces are welcomed with open arms. The bar’s popularity means it fills up fast, so arriving early is a smart move to grab a seat at the bar and fully immerse yourself in the experience. The fact that it accepts reservations for tables also helps in planning a seamless night out.
Whether you’re looking for a quiet, intimate setting for a date or a great spot for a celebratory night with friends, Temple Bar delivers a consistent and high-quality experience that is hard to match. Its status as a "fabulous spot" and a "classic cocktail bar" is well-earned.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Fabulous spot. I come here often. It’s a total vibe and great drinks. Superb service. Disco, the bouncer, at the door is the man. Really nice and also inspires a feeling of safety and strength. I felt very welcome and we had a great night. Try the delicious popcorn!
September 07 · DavidThis is strictly a review on space, vibe and cocktails.Temple bar is a classic cocktail bar in Soho. Dark interiors with dim lighting, its a sexy place to be in.The key with Temple Bar is arriving early to grab a seat at the bar. They do fill up fast. The cocktails were executed to perfection and I received incredible service from the bar team and bar manager Noelle. If you go on a Thursday or Saturday evening look for Simon. Tall bartender with an epic mustache. He is a young superstar who moves fast, is cordial, knowledgeable and makes some killer cocktails.I'll def be back to try some of their food offerings.
December 26 · Tony Del PinoImpressive cocktail menu. I loved my olive oil martini! The best popcorn! Quiet, comfortable - we sat at the bar. The bartenders were attentive and warmed up to us throughout our stay. We did not have reservations; just from the experience with the host, it seemed like they would be helpful. I would go back!
February 21 · Bailey WebbThis spot has a nice and sophisticated atmosphere, but unfortunately, the staff completely ruined the experience. From the moment I walked in, every interaction I had with the employees was rude and unprofessional. One staff member in particular, who was flamboyant in manner, showed the worst hospitality I’ve ever experienced. The bar area was also extremely tight. While I was simply trying to hand my friend her birthday flowers and take a quick photo, this man rudely told us to move and not block “his area.” His approach was unnecessarily harsh and disrespectful. Then the same man, APPROACHED US asking if we wanted a table for my party, i told him hold on let me confirm the count, I briefly turned to count and within seconds, he gave the table away. When I turned back to let him know, he abruptly threw his hand up, said “I can’t, I can’t, give me a few”, and walked away without even explaining that the table had already been given to someone else. Meanwhile, the person he gave it to, he was nicely asking them about their party and they weren’t even all there at the moment to be seated. He dismissed us in a very cold matter, which didn’t make sense. The bartender wasn’t any better. A tall white man with glasses, he carried himself with a miserable attitude, no smile, no warmth, just cold stares that made guests feel unwelcome. If someone dislikes their job so much, they shouldn’t be working in this type of atmosphere. The waitress collecting drinks also carried the same unhelpful, dismissive energy. To make matters worse, as I left with my husband, I overheard the flamboyant staff member and his friend making comments and laughing about us on the way out. That level of unprofessionalism is beyond unacceptable.People come here to enjoy themselves and spend their hard earned money, not to deal with rude, untrained, and miserable staff. This place desperately needs to retrain their employees on how to treat guests with respect. Because of the horrendous behavior I experienced, I will never step foot here again.
August 31 · MiMi & MoMy friend and I walked in with no reservation. We were just hung out in the area and saw this bar nearby. I love the vibe of the place, interior and style of secret bar. No name of the bar outside only symbol of animal skeleton next to the door. The host was super nice to us, and we told her we can just sit at the bar because we didn't reserve the table. She brought us to waiting area, but we were still able to order some drinks while waiting. Drinks are fantastic, my friend who is also a bartender gave them a compliment. They did a great job with martini straight up with a twist. For my drink I had spicy flamingo, it is Tequila blanco, watermelon, lime, agave & chili salt. With good service, great drinks and sexy atmosphere, we will definitely go back and invite more friend next time.
