### What is Worth Choosing?
When you visit The Kunjip, the main attraction is, without a doubt, the Korean barbecue. This is a staple of Korean dining, and The Kunjip does it exceptionally well. The quality of the meat, from the tender Galbi Gui to the flavorful Bul Go Ki, is top-notch. It’s a popular choice for good reason, offering a social and satisfying way to enjoy a meal with family or friends. Another highlight is the complimentary banchan, a selection of small side dishes that accompany every meal. While the variety might change, they are a delicious and integral part of the Korean dining experience.
For those who aren’t in the mood for BBQ, the restaurant’s extensive list of stews (jigae) and soups (guk) is well worth exploring. The Soon Doo Boo Jigae, a spicy soft tofu stew, is a classic and comforting choice. Another excellent option is the Bibimbob, particularly the Gobdol Bibimbob served in a hot stone bowl, which creates a crispy rice crust at the bottom—a textural delight. The lunch specials are also a great deal, providing an affordable way to enjoy a satisfying and authentic Korean meal.
Despite some comments about the pace of service, many customers appreciate the efficiency, especially in a city where time is often of the essence. The Kunjip’s ability to handle large crowds and serve food quickly while maintaining quality is a significant advantage. The combination of its authentic flavors, lively atmosphere, and convenient location makes The Kunjip a must-visit destination for anyone in New York City looking to experience true Korean cuisine.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The Kunjip was the perfect spot to have dinner after a New York Rangers game. The fact that the walk is so close to MSG made it an easy choice to go to. The food was delicious, and the Korean Barbecue was some of the best food I've had at a Korean restaurant in a long time. The service was excellent, we got a table immediately and were able to place our order in a reasonable time. Our waiter was great, the food came fast, and our drinks were always full. Every time our drinks got low, the waiter asked us if we wanted more drinks and brought them to us. Which is appreciated, thank you for that. The Kunjip will be a place to visit again the next time we are in NYC.
June 24 · Jackie LeeOur complimentary banchan is different from the next table, not sure why. Lunch special is a good deal, and you can get a pretty decent lunch for less than $30.The service is rushing; they rushed you by giving you dessert juice and cleaning up table while we are still eating. Won’t come back again in general.
September 17 · FrancesOne of my go-to spots in Korea-town, NYCI love how every meal comes with 5–6 tasty banchan (Korean side dishes) — they are flavorful, and change often. I had the broiled mackerel, and it was amazing. The lunch special gives you half a mackerel with fresh-made rice and a hearty stew for $19.95, I also had the whole fish for $30.95.Truthfully, for the variety, flavor, and nutritional value, it’s hard to beat this place. Great portions, quick service, and a cozy, authentic vibe. Highly recommend.Tip: Talk slower and clear to the service attendant, I experienced their Korean much better than English.
July 23 · H WangGreat Korean BBQ. We were group of 4 and shared a fried rice type dish and the platter of meat. They bring out every side imaginable. They cut and cook the meat on stove in front of you. No need to do anything. Service wasn’t amazing but we forgive it with the quality of food.
May 10 · TitoOn a rainy day, took a walk to Korea town. Felt like eating something hearty and went to the Kunjip. Best decision of the day - I had the gam ja tang which was sooooo delicious. The meat was so tender and broth rich and flavourful. Paired with such lovely fresh rice and assorted ban chan. It was the best Korean food I've had. Lots of Koreans frequenting the restaurant, including more senior customers, which means the food is legit!
