★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Upscale Italian restaurant. High end service. We both order the ossobucco which came with a saffron risotto and shared the ragu as a starter. We also ordered a side of mixed vegetables which was the strangest mix I had seen at an Italian restaurant -- corn, tomatoes, cut asparagus.I also ordered a red wine per the suggestion of the server which was delicious.
June 01 · Daniella FoderaA pleasant place with a cozy interior and delicious food. There are a couple of outdoor tables for those who enjoy dining "al fresco". Convenient location if you're planning dinner before the opera or ballet at Lincoln Center, or a stroll through Central Park after Sunday brunch. They have jazz brunches on weekends to set the mood too.I recommend ordering the VITELLO TONNATO as an appetizer. The combination of veal and fish sauce is superb! And the ZABAIONE for dessert will not only please the eye during its preparation but also pamper your taste buds, if you appreciate food presentations.Definitely a place to have saved on your "Places to eat at" list.
March 31 · Alexandra KWe came here for our anniversary dinner, and it was a great choice. The restaurant has a classy yet cozy vibe, with white tablecloths and beautiful murals. For starters, we had the grilled octopus and the pumpkin and black truffle flan—both were super flavorful and paired perfectly with their sauces. For the main course, I had a fish dish cooked in olive oil, white wine, and lemon, served with sautéed spinach—light, perfectly prepared, and so flavorful. The staff carefully deboned and plated it tableside. My partner went for the slow-cooked Ragu Napoletano. I didn’t try it, but he really enjoyed it.Dessert was a cute surprise—our tiramisu had “Happy Anniversary” written in chocolate, a thoughtful detail that made the night feel even more special.Every dish was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. Even the complimentary bread and arancini were a treat.Service was great overall, but there was one odd thing with the wine. We ordered a bottle of white, and instead of opening it at the table and keeping it in an ice bucket nearby, they took it somewhere else. It wasn’t a big deal since they kept our glasses full, but it was just something we hadn’t experienced before. Maybe we should’ve asked to have it kept at the table, but it didn’t really bother us.Other than that, everything was fantastic. The staff was warm and friendly, and our server even took some great photos for us to remember the occasion. We’ll be coming back!
February 11 · Mila KOverall rating: 4.5Definitely not being the target audience of this place, I’ll try my hardest to keep my review subjective. My friend that I went with has been here a few times, so when I arrived with them - the staff was friendly. They were accommodating & nice from what I remember. This is what we ordered:- Gambero Rosso: 6/5 shrimp carpaccio. So so good.- Sformato di zucca e tartufo nero: 4/5 oof too filling for an appetizer; wish we chose for something lighter- Tavolo Rustica 1/5 wayyy too basic for $42. DO NOT ORDER.- Capesante 4/5 eh nothing special (scallops)- Candele Zucca e salsiccia - 5/5 I thought this was good. But by the time, I ate it. My stomach was already declining.Towards the end of it, I definitely had way too much lactose because my body was feeling it. Thank goodness it was a solo bathroom. Overall, it was nice to see how the other side lives but can’t say the place blew me out of the water that I’m dying to come here again if I was a millionaire.
February 02 · Olivia NI am a single woman and I had a reservation and yet when I arrived the hostess offered me a spot at the bar. I declined and I got a table in the back by the bar where people pass to use the toilet as well as employees passing repeatedly. I never saw the pretty paintings on the wall. I wonder when fine restaurants will begin to treat single women diners with the same respect they give to their other customers. I don’t care that my tab will be less and the restaurant shouldn’t either. It should be about providing every person with a lovely experience. Treat your single women customers like a queen, not a pauper. The server pushed me to have an appetizer after I said I would be having a salad as my first course. I don’t want sales as a part of my dining experience. The beet salad was fresh and the earthy beets paired with the frisée and little dollops of cheese and nuts was pleasant. The halibut in the tiny bit of thyme sauce was perfect and the three little carrots were nice but the grilled endive was a huge misstep. The grilled endive was tough and tasted of a grill. No one wants the charcoally grill as a flavor component in their mouths. The server tried to tell me it is a traditional Italian dish and while that it true, it is not true that it is cold and tough and tastes like the grill. It should be tender with a mellow flavor that doesn’t bite your tongue. Needless to say, It didn’t pair well with the rest of the dish. The dish wanted a bit of potato or cauliflower puree. Thank goodness for the few tomatoes on the halibut or it might have been a beautifully cooked piece of fish with no flavors to elevate it. The lemon meringue tart was very nice although there were too many meringues on it making it too sweet. The little dollops of cream on the plate served the lemon curd of the tart much better. My bill was $164.
