★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Stopped by again after a while and noticed they’ve added seating, which is a nice upgrade since there were no tables when we visited during the winter. We ordered the dried shrimp rice noodle and the fresh shrimp rice noodle. It’s still a solid spot for a quick meal, but the noodles didn’t have the same chewy texture we remembered from before. They were a bit softer. One thing we appreciated is that they have all the sauces available at the table, including peanut sauce, hoisin, and sweet soy, so you can dress it up however you like. It’s okay if you have no other options for rice noodles but there are so many options nearby.
July 04 · Lisa WongDamn, didn’t think I would ever get disappointed by Tonii but it happened today. I used to order from here frequently, their veggie steamed rice rolls are yummy. I ordered a beef rice roll today and it was so lacking! There was barely any meat chunks, 10 pieces max maybe. The layers of the rice rolls are all mushed up and tasted very mushy. The noodles to meat proportion is so off - I feel like a small chern fun from the cart near Hong Kong supermarket has more meat than this! So disappointed to pay $7 buck for this unappetizing lunch. The flavor of all the sauces aren’t hitting the same like a year or two ago too :(( most likely never returning. Service is great tho.Included a pic of all the pieces without any meat:/ like I would prefer to not eat plain rice roll with sauces
June 10 · Jun Ting WengIt is not a high end restaurant and kind like fast food one. I don’t expect any good atmosphere or service. I am here is for the rice noodles. But it is very disappointed. 牛拉腸不行。 粉粘牙,牛肉好柴又咸。Maybe other food is good.price is reasonable.we saw the next table ordered cake. So we also ordered one. Not too bad, but not outstanding. Not fluffy enough.
June 15 · Jian LiangHonestly delish. Truth be told, there’s very little meat in there for $7. But alas. It’s still delicious. The magic is really in the sauce. Make sure to dump the special soy sauce all over the top. The peanut butter sauce is also delish. Plus there’s chili oil.I liked the Toni Special. The tried shrimp is very flavourful. They’re open until 6:30pm!!! Not 3:30pm!!!It’s fast - I got takeout in around 5-6 mins. No line.
June 11 · Cassia AUpdate May 2025: wow, this place went from the best in town to absolutely mediocre in just half a year. Idk if the chef or ingredients changed, but that was not it.Review 2024: One of the best steamed rice roll places I’ve tried in NY. The texture is so soft but not mushy at all. I like it more than Yin Ji Chang Fen. Comes with hoisin sauce, house made soy sauce, peanut butter sauce and chilly sauce on the side separately packing in a bag. No dining areas. I got the #8 tonii’s special, $6+tax
