Tulcingo Introduce
Introduction / Overview
For New Yorkers seeking an authentic and comprehensive taste of Mexican culinary tradition, Tulcingo presents itself as much more than a conventional bakery—it is a full-service, multi-faceted establishment. Located in the dynamic and culturally rich neighborhood of Corona, Queens, Tulcingo has established a reputation for offering a massive array of food, ranging from a delectable selection of freshly baked Mexican sweet breads and pastries (panadería) to an extensive menu of traditional Mexican platters and regional specialties. While the name 'Bakery' may suggest a singular focus, Tulcingo is, in practice, a combination deli, restaurant, and pastry shop, making it a go-to destination for everything from a quick morning coffee and sweet roll to a full, satisfying dinner.
The cuisine is deeply rooted in Mexican, particularly Puebla-style, flavors, offering a culinary journey through the country's diverse regions. The sheer variety available—from hearty desayunos (breakfasts) to robust mariscos (seafood) and classic street food favorites like tacos and tortas—speaks to its commitment to authenticity and breadth. This makes Tulcingo a cornerstone of the local community, catering to quick, everyday visits as well as satisfying a craving for a full, traditional meal. The prices are notably affordable across the board, making high-quality, authentic Mexican food accessible to the Corona community.
Tulcingo’s presence on Junction Boulevard ensures it is positioned in a bustling area of Queens, reflecting the borough’s reputation as the epicenter of culinary diversity. It operates as a dependable and versatile spot for those who appreciate the convenience of takeout and delivery alongside the option for a quick, in-person selection of fresh baked goods. The continuous positive feedback on the flavor and authenticity of its Mexican dishes confirms its standing as a must-visit local spot.
The expansive menu details provided underscore the bakery’s evolution into a full-scale Mexican restaurant. Customers can find everything from simple side orders like Arroz y Frijoles (Rice and Beans) to elaborate weekend-only specials like Platos De Barbacoa and Consome De Chivo (Goat Consommé), demonstrating a dedication to serving deeply traditional and celebratory dishes.

What is Worth Choosing Tulcingo?
Choosing Tulcingo Bakery & Restaurant is choosing unparalleled culinary variety and affordability in one convenient Corona location. For the busy New Yorker, its combination of an accessible bakery counter and a comprehensive, authentic Mexican restaurant menu provides solutions for virtually any craving or time constraint.
What makes Tulcingo truly stand out is its commitment to both breadth and value. Where many bakeries limit their scope, Tulcingo expands it to offer complete, traditional meals. You can easily grab an inexpensive breakfast of 3 Pancakes or 3 French Toast with 2 Eggs and Bacon for only $6.50, or a classic Taco for just $2.00. However, the true value lies in the authentic specialties, such as the full-flavored Mole Poblano or the extensive Mariscos (Seafood) platters, which remain remarkably priced for the generous portions they offer. The weekend specials, in particular, provide a rare opportunity in a city setting to easily access traditional celebratory Mexican dishes like Barbacoa.
The ability to settle a quick craving with a piece of pan dulce—which customers are invited to select themselves—and simultaneously place an order for a hearty dinner, all while knowing that payment is flexible and service is geared toward a quick visit, makes Tulcingo an essential local resource. While customer feedback is mixed, with some noting concerns about pastry flavor consistency and pricing at certain satellite locations, the core offering at the main location remains highly regarded for its wide selection, authentic Mexican flavor profiles, and general cleanliness. For those in Corona or passing through Queens who value authenticity, variety, and an excellent price point, Tulcingo is a unique and comprehensive culinary destination worth exploring. The convenience of delivery and takeout further cements its role as a vital food service provider in the 11368 zip code.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The place was very clean, and the person was very friendly. You take out your own bakery goods. Some of the pastries lacked flavor.
August 23 · Lee StatI visited the new location at 108-73 Roosevelt Ave. $8 for a tres leches and taste was bland. Its like you're paying restaurant prices for a to go dessert with low quality taste. Cake prices are expensive too. I would rather go to Capy Bakery for cakes instead.
March 27 · J CI sended by daughter to buy some bread for our family we normally get 8 breads and get it for around 16 dollars and now they charged by daughter $25 for 8 breads even she realized it was way too much but since she didn’t know what to do she just paid for it
March 16 · Kaylie PavonI liked to go buy cakes every time it was a birthday of my family, it was the only place where I bought. A week ago I went to buy a small cake, my mistake was not asking the price, they charged me $50.00 dollars, and I know that everything has gone up in price but last year the price was 30 or 35, and I thought it was still worth it. It's worth buying, but what a horrible taste, apart from the fact that they put more frosting than bread. I will never buy there again. For Mexican cakes I recommend 100% Capy, they cost the same and are delicious, and for Mexican bread Bakery Los Primos the bread there is very tasty, and always freshly made.
January 26 · Grisel V.I bought this "chocoflan" and looked so fresh! I realized after chewing the mold part🤢🤢 never again gonna trust something looking fresh .
