★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1As per usually whenever we score Broadway tickets, we head to the city early find parking and randomly pick a restaurant for a pre-show meal and cocktails. In June we happened to walk into Tumi. The restaurant appeared to be newly opened and possibly still working out some of the kinks. With a clean modern design it has a very relax causal feel with simple decor. We started with some HH passion fruit margaritas and chips & guac. For an entrée I decided on Arroz con Pollo (it was presented differently from what I’m accustomed to) and bestie went with Pulpo A La Parrilla (grilled octopus). Both dishes were well seasoned and nicely prepared. I was impressed by the octopus, the flavor was great but the texture was perfect. I wanted to order it but was nervous that it may be overcooked and rubbery and it was not.Overall a good random dining experience. Our server was Andres, he was lovely and offered suggestions when asked. You can tell staff was still trying to find their flow which highlighted some of the inconsistency in communication with each other.Just A Note:-Happy Hour everyday from 3-7pm-Drag Brunch 2-4pm on Saturday & Sunday
August 10 · S. RIBEIROI visited this restaurant a few weeks ago and at first I was a bit reluctant to walk into this establishment because it looked over-crowded, but upon entering it turned out to be just enough space. The atmosphere was fun, people were dancing, lots of chatter and laughter by the bar it was definitely a good time. The tables were on the smaller side but they make it work. The service was a bit slow but they were very busy and it was a weekend night. The food was typical Peruvian cuisine which I really like, but this meal left me wanting more flavor, definitely not what I am accustomed to. The hostess which I did not quite get her name because of the loud music was very nice and helpful. The party like environment overall made my visit worth it. I may return at another time when they are not too busy and see if things are a bit different. But still I would say keep up the good work.
September 17 · tony rodMy husband and I lived in Peru for a couple of years and this is by far the best Peruvian restaurant that we have come across since being back. The portions were huge (the only right way for Peruvian food to be served!!) and the staff was incredible. Fun atmosphere, open late, and great if you’re looking for some authentic cuisine. 10/10 recommend, we’ll be back!
August 24 · Katie GoatesThis place has an amazing atmosphere. We loved the food, the people, and the drinks. Highly recommend. Our server Kevin, took amazing care of us. We had so many questions in an effort to narrow down what to eat… EVERYTHING sounded so good, so we had a hard time picking. Will definitely be back.
March 16 · Lauren VincentThis place is so good. Good prices, fresh food and everyone got something they liked. The yucca fries are perfect and I loved the pausas. Definitely recommend this spot and you won’t have TUMI MUCH!
