You can start your evening with a great cocktail in the main bar, head to the spacious outdoor patio for a beer, or catch an intimate live performance in the back room. The bar's commitment to live music is one of its biggest draws, with a packed calendar featuring local, national, and international bands. This diverse range of performances, coupled with the resident DJs who spin a wide variety of music seven days a week, ensures there’s always something new and exciting happening. While the space is known for being popular with groups and can get crowded, especially on weekends, it also offers a great environment for solo diners or those simply looking for a quick bite and a drink. The overall vibe is one of laid-back energy, a place where people can truly be themselves and enjoy a night out without pretense. This enduring appeal is why Union Pool has remained a beloved landmark in Williamsburg, a consistent and reliable spot for a good time. It’s a place that has retained its character and charm even as the neighborhood around it has changed, a testament to its strong identity and loyal following.
The drink menu at Union Pool is as thoughtfully curated as its music lineup, offering something for every type of drinker. The selection of beers, both on tap and in cans and bottles, is a major highlight, ranging from local favorites like Sixpoint and Brooklyn to classic international brews like Guinness and Veltins. This great beer selection caters to the casual beer drinker and the discerning enthusiast alike. For those who prefer spirits, the bar offers a variety of house drinks, from the Kpf Margarita to the Mezcal Jennet, each crafted to provide a unique and refreshing experience. The hard liquor and wine offerings are also well-stocked, ensuring you can always find your go-to drink. Union Pool also offers happy hour food and drink specials, making it an excellent destination for a post-work outing or an affordable pre-show drink. While food is not the main focus, a taco truck is often available in the backyard, providing the perfect accompaniment to your drinks. This combination of a great drink menu, a reliable food option, and a lively atmosphere is what makes Union Pool a complete entertainment destination. While the bar staff's demeanor can sometimes be a point of contention, as noted in some reviews, the general consensus praises the quick service and the quality of the drinks. The bar prides itself on its fast service, which is essential for a venue that can get quite crowded. The variety of offerings, from a casual PBR to a crafted cocktail, ensures that everyone feels at home and can find a drink they love. This commitment to variety and quality is a key reason for the bar’s popularity and enduring appeal in a competitive market.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Been here twice hoping things would improve, but it’s still the same. Great venue, nice ambiance with amazing bands, but the bartender is a disaster—an overgrown, tattooed tough guy wannabe. Rude, entitled, and quick to scare off customers. Tips are appreciated, not a ransom especially for tourists who may not know local customs. Refusing to serve people isn’t just unprofessional, it's pathetic.
September 09 · Monty PYCool hipstery Williamsburg beer garden vibe with lots of space, a taco truck, and a music venue/club area. Supposedly the building used to be a pool supply store, which is reflected in the theming.
September 08 · Caingreat vibes and crowd overall but the the service was terrible. the bartender was so rude and condescending. she was very entitled and rude. specifically Sarah. her attitude towards my group and it felt targeted when she came back out with a mask after talking to us.
September 13 · Andrew LennonExperienced what many others have in the reviews - my friends and I had an extremely unprofessional encounter with the bartender, believe her name is Sarah. FYI, harassing and berating customers over tipping is not going to get you far in life. Not only is it unprofessional, it's quite sad behavior. If you want to be tipped higher, try providing good service? Or, try asking with respect (something you'd think any civilized person would do). There was nothing special about the way she opened my beer can, yet she felt entitled to a certain tip and went as far as to make snarky remarks, intervene my payment and return back to the tip screen to force a higher tip. I truly have never encountered a more sad, abysmally bitter, and unprofessional bartender in my life. Quite a unique experience.TLDR; Staff here are clearly unhappy with their compensation at this job (seen multiple reviews of complaints regarding weird staff behavior over tipping), management should consider either paying employees higher or overhauling the staff who don't know how to speak to humans with basic decency. Don't worry, will never be back
September 15 · Tammy ChunWe haven’t been in Brooklyn for six years and we were very surprised how everything changed in this part of it. The alternative scene nearly disappeared and it’s becoming extremely posh. The only bar which remained the same is Union Pool. We had a very nice evening, listened to a DJ and had many beers.
