★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I‘ve visited Wagamama in London several times and always had a great experience. When I came across this location in New York, I was excited to try it. Unfortunately, this visit was extremely disappointing, and I truly feel it was a WASTE of money.Upon entering, a female server guided me toward a bar seat. I politely asked if I could be seated by the window instead, as there were plenty of empty tables. She did not verbally respond and seemed quite dismissive.Shortly after, a male server, who was kind and attentive, brought me a glass of tap water. However, the table was sticky and appeared dirty, which was concerning.Regarding the food — I wondered how they are managing their ingredients and the recipe.Pork Belly Bao ($11): The pork was extremely dry, and the toppings were poorly prepared.Beef Brisket Tantanmen Ramen ($23): The bamboo shoots and the kimchi tasted spoiled, with a sourness beyond the normal flavor. The beef brisket was very dry, and the broth and egg were cold. For a dish that is meant to be served hot, the cold egg was particularly unpleasant.I shared my feedback with the male server, who listened carefully and was understanding. I appreciated his attitude, which at least prevented the experience from being entirely ruined. Nevertheless, I spent $40 (including tip) for a deeply unsatisfying meal.
April 29 · Jihyun MinThis has become one of my favorite places to eat. The options are varied and the taste is out of this world. Specifically the soup broth is almost like it's some sort of addictive substance it's so good...I have found that they're very open to make some substitutions and mix things up a bit as far as what's on the menu, which is super helpful to me. The staff is always helpful and friendly and I would not hesitate to come here over and over again...
August 10 · John OuelletteDelicious ramen on a surprisingly rainy and cold late summer day. Lunch special is a decent value. It’s a low key setting which for a late lunch was quiet and relaxed. Server was fast and very friendly. Only minor issue was it was a bit cold in the restaurant.
August 20 · Alisa BVisited with my girlfriends. The place is really nice. The drinks are super good. I forgot to take more pictures because I was so busy stuffing my face. The ramen was good but I definitely liked my friends better than the one I ordered. Will have to go back and order different spread next time. For apps we had Duck Hoisin Baos, Calamari, and Spicy Cauliflower Bites. I recommend all of them but careful with the cauliflower if you’re not good with spice, it definitely packs a punch.
May 10 · Yuri De Los SantosWe had a fun and flavorful meal at Wagamama! Tried a variety of dishes — some hits, some misses. The pad Thai was okay, but definitely not like the one you’d get in Thailand — milder and less bold in flavor. The duck ramen, on the other hand, was rich, a bit fatty in the best way, and absolutely satisfying. The chicken salad was light and fresh, a good balance to the heartier dishes. Their famous bang bang cauliflower came with high expectations, but it was just okay — crispy but the sauce didn’t quite wow us.We also had two bao buns: one vegetarian and one with chicken. Both were great — soft, fluffy buns with flavorful fillings. The chicken one especially stood out, with tender meat and a nice crunchy contrast.Fresh-pressed juices were a highlight — especially the positive one, super refreshing and energizing. And the teas! One with lemongrass, the other with mint — both fragrant and calming.A nice spot for a casual meal with a twist, especially if you’re in the mood for variety and fresh drinks.
