Choosing what to eat at Win Son Bakery can be a delightful dilemma, given the rich and varied menu. However, there are a few standout items that consistently receive high praise and are well worth your attention. The scallion pancake wraps are an absolute must-try. They are not the scallion pancakes you might be used to; these are elevated, filled with melted havarti cheese and your choice of savory ingredients like bacon, egg, and cheese (the BEC Scallion Pancake) or the uniquely flavorful Pastrami Beef Tongue. The pancake itself is a masterpiece—perfectly crispy and flaky, providing a satisfying texture to complement the generous, gooey filling. These wraps are surprisingly filling and are a fantastic introduction to the bakery's innovative approach.
For those looking for a taste of traditional Taiwanese breakfast, the Fan Tuan is an excellent choice. This sticky rice roll, filled with savory ingredients, is a nostalgic nod to classic street food and a fan favorite. The milk buns also deserve a special mention. These soft, pillowy sandwiches are a perfect vehicle for the flavorful fillings, and options like the Shrimp Milk Bun or the classic BEC Milk Bun offer a comforting yet distinctive meal. If you have a sweet tooth, don’t leave without trying one of their baked goods. The Millet Mochi Donut provides a unique, chewy texture, while the Laminated Bolo Bao offers a flaky, buttery richness that is hard to resist. The combination of classic Taiwanese flavors with modern bakery techniques is what truly makes Win Son Bakery special. The menu caters to diverse tastes, ensuring there is something for everyone to enjoy, whether you're in the mood for a hearty savory dish or a delightful sweet treat.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Had high expectations because of all the hype! I think the concept is really cool and there’s a lot more of the menu to try but I got the bacon, egg, and cheese scallion pancake and the shrimp and egg one as well. Both were good, I preferred the shrimp surprisingly. I think that they tasted great - the pancake was crispy, the filling to pancake ratio was good. The sauce is kinda necessary because I feel like it was a little dry. These were deceivingly filling. I liked the fantuan more and it felt a littlebit more classic too. I think the service system works great and there’s a ton of seating with a lot of natural sunlight. Just a very cute place to stop by for a meal. Excited to try other stuff on the menu.
August 20 · MichelleWin Son is a true culinary gem that masterfully blends traditional Taiwanese street food with a creative American twist. The dishes are not only innovative in flavor but also beautifully presented. I had been wanting to go for a long time and the food made the visit very memorable. For first-time visitors, I highly recommend starting with one of their scallion pancake wraps. These are served like petite burritos, oozing with melted havarti cheese and packed with ingredients like scallions, vermicelli noodles, or other savory fillings of your choice. The rice roll noodles are another standout—stir fried with scallions, shrimp tofu, and tossed in a deeply flavorful garlic stir-fry sauce that’s rich in umami. The fantuan is a nostalgic nod to Taiwanese breakfast street carts, filled with soft poached eggs and your choice of meat or tofu. I was especially pleased to see a good range of vegetarian options, which is a welcome surprise given the traditionally meat-heavy nature of Taiwanese cuisine. The snow pea salad was refreshing, and the fresh soy milk was delightfully frothy and smooth. As for the biang dang (bento box), while beautifully plated and flavorful, it felt a bit underwhelming in portion size—especially considering the price. The fish version, marinated in ginger soy sauce, was perfectly seasoned but quite small for the cost.Win Son also offers a selection of Taiwanese pastries that are hugely popular staples in Taiwan, such as pineapple cakes and other traditional sweets. I didn’t get a chance to try them on this visit, but they looked incredible and are high on my list for next time.Overall, Win Son offers an inventive and flavorful take on Taiwanese street food, with thoughtful vegetarian options and vibrant, bold flavors throughout the menu. While some dishes may not feel as filling for the price, the quality and creativity of the food make it a spot well worth returning to—especially to explore more of their beloved pastries.
May 26 · Allison L.We think the restaurant was fairly efficient in line management and timing food. The staff work very hard. There is a good mix of sweet and savory items. There is seating but it’s right. We had the egg and cheese pancake. We didn’t find it too oily as other reviews noted but think that meats would contribute to a greasy texture. The scallion flavor was pretty mild. The red rice donut was so underwhelming that we discarded most of it. I think this is a nice spot to try with one other friend because you can chat while waiting in line and split two or three things to try. It’s probably not work the social media hype.
June 08 · Jaye Aster BroderAmbiance (5/5): Plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor. Very minimalistic and open space with a bathroom insideService (N/A): It is an order at the counter and they bring out the food to you. You grab your own utensils and water.Mortadella scallion pancake ($18) (5/5): Okay the hype was worth it… It was very large and super filling. The pancake had a nice exterior crunch and all the ingredients melted together wonderfully. There was also a side dipping sauce that reminded of thousand island but also tasted wonderful with the pancake. I was full literally all day.Twice Baked Bolo Bao PB ($8): The melted chocolate on the bottom was superb but overall was an okay muffin. It had too much going on.This was an expensive breakfast. The scallion pancake IMO should not be that expensive. However, there’s so much more on the menu that I want to try so I will definitely be back.
September 12 · Steph WGreat concept with Taiwanese comfort food. I loved every dish we tried. I’ll definitely come back to try the dessert menu, which looks amazing and is what made their reputation in BK. There’s seating available, no wait when we went, and service was quick. That said, I found it a bit pricey and really loud — though the playlist was great.
