Wing Cheong Introduce
For many New Yorkers, a local Chinese restaurant is more than just a place to eat; it's a reliable source of comfort, convenience, and classic flavors. Wing Cheong, a long-standing fixture at 1389 Fulton St in Brooklyn, embodies this tradition perfectly. This no-frills, takeout-focused eatery has been serving up generous portions of American-Chinese favorites for years, earning a loyal following among residents and college students alike. It's the kind of place you turn to for a quick, satisfying meal after a long day or a late night, offering a menu that feels both familiar and deeply comforting.
Wing Cheong’s appeal lies in its straightforward approach to classic Chinese-American cuisine. The menu is expansive, covering all the staples from a variety of fried rice and lo mein options to a wide array of American and Chinese specials like fried chicken wings, General Tso's chicken, and boneless spare ribs. Patrons rave about the large portion sizes, with one customer noting that their order provided enough food for "4 meals." This commitment to providing great value, combined with the quick and efficient service, makes Wing Cheong a go-to spot for those looking for a delicious and affordable meal.
While the atmosphere is casual and the focus is on takeout and delivery, the quality and variety of the food speak for themselves. The menu also includes vegetarian options, ensuring that a wide range of dietary needs can be met. From classic appetizers like egg rolls and wontons to hearty soups and a variety of noodle dishes, there is truly something for everyone. Wing Cheong represents the best of a local takeout spot: consistent, convenient, and satisfying.

Choosing Wing Cheong is a decision to embrace the classic New York Chinese takeout experience. It's a place that delivers on its promise of providing delicious, satisfying, and affordable food. The main draw is the sheer quantity and quality of the meals. The generous portions mean that you get incredible value for your money, making it a perfect spot for those on a budget, such as the college students who frequent the establishment. The variety on the menu is also a significant factor. Whether you're in the mood for a classic General Tso's, a hearty bowl of lo mein, or a simple fried rice, you will find a dish that hits the spot.
While a recent customer review highlighted a serious issue with a piece of wood found in their food, and a negative response from the business, it is worth noting that this appears to be a rare occurrence in the context of a long history of service. The customer themselves stated, "I’ve never ever had an issue with my meal here before" after "coming here for close to 10 years." This indicates that, for the most part, the business has a consistent track record of providing a good service and product. For many loyal customers, it remains their go-to spot. For a new customer, it is prudent to be aware of the feedback, but it should be weighed against the overwhelming history of positive experiences.
Ultimately, Wing Cheong is worth choosing for its authentic and straightforward approach to Chinese comfort food. It's the ideal place for a quick, convenient, and filling meal. The late-night hours are a lifesaver for many, and the extensive menu with vegetarian options ensures that it can cater to a wide range of tastes. If you're in Brooklyn and craving classic Chinese takeout, Wing Cheong is a solid choice that has stood the test of time for a reason.

August 03 · Nhi PBeen coming here for years! Loved the place, location and Food.A few days ago, I ordered a meal and found pieces of Wood in it. I’ve never ever had an issue with my meal here before. However, this one particular time, I was choking on a piece of wood… I don’t know where this would come from in a steel kitchen but I found 3 pieces. I assumed it was cinnamon at first but it definitely was not.Now I’ve been coming here for close to 10 years, I come with the first issue ever and they were so reluctant to do anything about it. Sometimes you can support a business till you die and never realize they would never support you if the show was on the other foot nor do they care about you as a customer for real. How can your food almost kill me and you refuse to do anything about it?
March 24 · Felisha SCome from eastern long island at least once a month to get food from here! The worker and i think owner is named May and she does a fantastic job. definitely recommend the drive if you're out in long island. They're open late, prices are great, and it the best chinese food i've ever had. 10/10 recommend.
August 15 · Annaleah TitoneWing Cheon has become a staple in my routine since moving to the neighborhood. The ultimate comfort food, consistent quality and huge portions every time. I call ahead and it’s ready when I get there. It’s not rare that you’ll hear customers talk about how they’ve moved out of the neighborhood but go out of their way for this takeout. Just speaks to how solid of an operation this place is. Love Wing Cheon
August 19 · Tom PeytonGreat dishes, seriously, there are so many things you can order, you can go a month without ordering the same thing. a plus: so many delicious tofu based meatless options too..the tofu dishes are really good
