Wonton Food Inc. Introduce
Wonton Food Inc. is a name that may not be familiar to many New Yorkers by its storefront, but its products are certainly part of the city's culinary fabric. Located in Long Island City, this establishment is a major food manufacturer and a leading producer of a classic Chinese-American dessert: the fortune cookie. While it primarily operates as a wholesale business serving restaurants and food service industries nationwide, its local presence on 37th Street is a testament to its long-standing history and importance in the food supply chain.
The core business of Wonton Food Inc. is the production of a variety of Asian food staples, including noodles, wrappers, and the famous fortune cookies. The company was founded in New York City in 1973 and has since grown to become a national leader in its field, with facilities in multiple states. This Long Island City location plays a crucial role in its operations, serving the New York region with fresh, high-quality products. For local foodies and curious New Yorkers, visiting the source of the ubiquitous fortune cookie is a unique experience.
For those who are interested in the behind-the-scenes world of food production, Wonton Food Inc. offers a fascinating glimpse into a large-scale baking operation. While it is not a traditional retail bakery with a display case of pastries, it serves a distinct and vital role. The company's focus on quality and consistency is what has allowed it to become a trusted supplier for countless restaurants and businesses, and that same dedication is evident in every fortune cookie that leaves its doors.
Wonton Food Inc. is situated at 52-10 37th St, Long Island City, NY 11101, USA. This address places it within a major industrial area of Long Island City. While the neighborhood is less focused on retail than other parts of Queens, it's a bustling hub of business and production.
Given its industrial nature, the location is best known for its accessibility for commercial vehicles and for those making quick, specific trips. The company is located off major arteries like I-495, and detailed directions provided by truck drivers in online reviews highlight its specific, if slightly complex, access points. For the average New Yorker, this location is best suited for a planned trip, likely by car, as it is primarily a production facility rather than a walk-in retail store. The public information points to an operation that is optimized for efficiency and logistics, with a schedule of 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays for pickups.
Takeout: While not a traditional walk-in retail shop, Wonton Food Inc. offers a takeout service. This implies that local customers can purchase products directly from the facility, providing a direct link to the source of the product.
On-site Services: The business is a primary manufacturing and distribution center for its products. While not a typical dining experience, it provides an on-site service for commercial and possibly private customers to pick up their orders.
Primary Producer of Fortune Cookies: Wonton Food Inc. is a massive bakery and is one of the largest manufacturers of fortune cookies in the United States. This unique feature makes it a significant player in the food industry and a fascinating place to visit for anyone interested in food production.
Main Manufacturer of Wonton and Noodle Products: Beyond fortune cookies, the company is also a major producer of noodles, wrappers, and other related food products for the food service industry. This highlights its broad impact on a variety of restaurants and eateries.
Focus on Logistics and Efficiency: Reviews and public information emphasize the company's efficient and quick loading and staging process for trucks. This focus on logistics ensures a smooth operation and a reliable supply chain, which is a key highlight for its commercial clients.
Community-Oriented Staff: Customer reviews often mention the "super cool nice guys" and "good people" who assist with logistics. This personal touch in an industrial setting is a notable feature that speaks to a positive and helpful work environment.
Dessert Offering: While the primary business is wholesale, its identification as a "Cookie shop" and "Dessert" provider means that its products are available for direct purchase for those looking for a quick treat.

Given the nature of Wonton Food Inc. as a manufacturing facility rather than a typical retail bakery, the "what is worth choosing" section takes on a different meaning. Instead of a specific dessert or pastry, the main items worth choosing are the very products that have made the company a household name in the food industry, with a focus on its iconic treats.
The most obvious choice is the fortune cookies. As one of the largest manufacturers of these famous cookies, you can be sure that the product is as fresh as it gets. These cookies are a classic and nostalgic treat, and getting them directly from the source in a bulk format is an experience in itself. While they are a standard dessert item, their ubiquity in Chinese restaurants across the country makes them a cultural staple.
Beyond the fortune cookies, Wonton Food Inc. is also a major producer of noodles and wonton wrappers. For home cooks or small-scale restaurateurs in New York who are looking to make authentic Asian dishes, sourcing these fresh ingredients directly from the manufacturer is a top-tier choice. The company’s focus on quality ensures that their wrappers and noodles are of a high standard, which can significantly improve the outcome of homemade meals.
Ultimately, what is worth choosing is the unique opportunity to experience a part of New York’s industrial food scene. It's not about a single slice of cake or a decorated cookie, but about the experience of getting a product directly from the source. For a local curious about where their favorite restaurant items come from, a visit to Wonton Food Inc. offers a satisfying glimpse into the large-scale production that fuels a city of foodies.

July 30 · Jagandeep SinghThese guys are super friendly and fast loading. It's tight to get here but totally do able. Take I 278 east to exit 54 I 678 south to exit 12B I 495 west to exit 16. Go left at the split and turn left onto Greenpoint ave then left on Bradley ave. Right on 37th and your here! Ok Bradley is now a one way in the wrong direction for trucks so you have to stay on Greenpoint until you hit review Ave then turn left onto it and left again on 37th Street. Their on the top of the hill. Park on the sidewalk to get loaded
August 20 · Reggie LuvExcellent. Appointment was for 1100hrs. I arrived at 0530. Loaded and on my way by 0900hrs. A little bit of a language barrier but if you're patient and pay attention to their hand gestures, it will be no issues. A little interesting getting in and out but definitely of the area however it can be done if you take your time.
