At its core, Woorijip is a self-service eatery that embodies the spirit of a traditional Korean "banchan" (side dish) market mixed with a quick-service cafeteria. The concept is simple yet brilliant: a vast, enticing spread of pre-made dishes awaits, allowing you to pick and choose your favorites as you go along. This unique setup caters to the fast-paced New York lifestyle, making it an ideal spot for a quick lunch break, a satisfying dinner before a night out, or a late-night craving. The sheer variety of options ensures that there's always something new to try, keeping regulars coming back for more. From savory stews and crispy pancakes to an impressive selection of "kimbap" (rice rolls) and spicy stir-fries, the menu is a testament to the richness and diversity of Korean home cooking. It's the kind of place where you can create a custom meal perfectly suited to your mood and appetite.
Woorijip’s reputation is built on its ability to serve delicious, high-quality food that feels homemade. Despite the bustling environment and fast service, the flavors are deep and authentic. It's this commitment to traditional recipes and generous portions that has cemented its place as a beloved fixture in Koreatown. The community has embraced it for its reliability and genuine character, making it a popular haunt for college students, working professionals on their lunch break, and groups of friends looking for a satisfying meal. The casual, trendy atmosphere adds to its appeal, making it a place where you can relax and enjoy good food without any pretense.

The proximity to Penn Station also makes it a convenient stop for those traveling in and out of the city. While paid street parking is available, it can be competitive, so public transportation is often the best and most stress-free option. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We have been here to eat a few times over the years. This time we were guests at a large party of 10 people. Lots of delicious food ordered by the host. Restaurant was packed as always with a line of people waiting to get n. Our table was downstairs in the back. A wonderful night with good food and friends. Service was excellent.
August 10 · THE EXPLORERSomeone tell me why this place was so hyped? Food was tasteless. Spicy was nonexistent, even their packet hot sauce was not spicy. Their staff stare at you for asking for soy sauce and hot sauce as if you’re stealing it and then they only give you 1 of each for an order of 4 items, what a joke! I’m disappointed because having lived in NYC, Korean food was much better in this area.
July 22 · MaChaNillasGreat place for a quick, budget-friendly Korean meal! The food was fresh and tasty with plenty of options to please everyone. Seating can be a bit tricky to find though.
August 29 · Hruthika ReddyThis is a convenient, grab-and-go Korean eatery where the food is pre-cooked and ready for quick service. It's a great spot to sample a variety of dishes, especially if you're visiting for the first time. The setup is cafeteria-style, with seat-yourself dining. While I believe it's kid-friendly, expect a lively and busy atmosphere.
May 02 · Vera QuillThe tofu banchan was on point. The chicken however, is sickeningly sweet and did not appeal to my rather East Asian palate. The Jajangmyeon tasted exactly as it should— cafeteria grade—as the sauce came on top of the noodle so the noodles can’t soak up the flavor of the fermented bean. This is a popular stop and eat place by groups of loud salary men, and for the poor ambience and average food, it’s not worth the price and it’s not a place I will want to visit again.
