Xi'an Famous Foods 西安名吃 | Court Square LIC Introduce
For those in New York City seeking a truly authentic and flavorful culinary adventure, Xi'an Famous Foods stands out as a unique and celebrated destination. This is not your typical neighborhood Chinese restaurant; it is a beloved chain that has introduced New Yorkers to the bold and distinct flavors of the Xi'an region in China. The menu is a focused exploration of these specific tastes, centered around a few key items that have earned a dedicated following. The most famous of these are the hand-ripped noodles, known for their chewy texture and ability to soak up the rich and spicy sauces they are served with. A visit to Xi'an Famous Foods is an opportunity to experience a different side of Chinese cuisine, one that is both comforting and exhilarating due to its well-balanced spice and complex flavors.
The establishment has built its reputation on a few best-selling dishes that consistently impress. The Spicy Cumin Lamb Hand-Ripped Noodles (N1) is a prime example, often cited as a must-try. Its perfect blend of cumin, chili oil, and tender lamb creates a flavor profile that is both intense and addictive, even for those with a low spice tolerance. Another fan favorite, the Spicy Hot Oil Seared Hand-Ripped Noodles (N8), is known for its incredible flavor and is even featured on the cover of the restaurant's own cookbook, a testament to its popularity and iconic status. Beyond the noodles, Xi'an Famous Foods also offers a selection of "burgers," which are essentially savory fillings served in a crunchy bun, providing a new and exciting twist on Western fast food. The Stewed Pork Burger (B1) is a non-spicy, juicy alternative that perfectly complements their spicier noodle dishes.
The chain's success lies in its ability to offer a quick bite of authentic and high-quality food in a casual setting. They've streamlined their service to be fast and efficient, which is ideal for the busy New York crowd. The menu is clear and straightforward, making it easy for both newcomers and regulars to order their favorites. The bold flavors and unique dishes have created a loyal customer base that craves the kind of authentic Chinese food that Xi'an Famous Foods provides. It's a place where you can get a quick, satisfying, and memorable meal that feels miles away from the ordinary, solidifying its place as a go-to spot for those seeking comfort and a little bit of heat.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Xi’an Famous Foods is a go-to spot for Chinese cuisine, satisfying cravings and leaving flavorful memories. Their menu has a good balance of spice levels, making it easy for customers with different spice tolerances to find something to enjoy. Their best seller N1, the Spicy Cumin Lamb Hand-Ripped Noodles, really astonished me. As someone that has low spice tolerance, their perfect mix of chili oil, chili seeds, and lamb had me ordering regular spice every time. Their N8, Spicy Hot Oil Seared Hand-Ripped Noodles, is definitely worthy of the front cover of their very own cookbook. Their burgers are also very tasty, giving a totally new experience from burgers in Western cuisine. I recommend the B1, Stewed Pork Burger, where it’s not spicy compared to the B2, Spicy Cumin Lamb Burger. The juiciness of the stewed pork in addition to the crunchy bun is a perfect combination. They also have a variety of home-made drinks, and their new sodas are definitely worth a try. If you’re nearby, make sure to check it out!
August 01 · Elaine ZouStopped by Xi’an Famous Foods at Court Square (LIC) and it absolutely hit the spot. I ordered the spicy and sour lamb dumplings and the spicy cumin lamb hand-ripped noodles in soup which both were incredibly flavorful and satisfying. I went with the normal spice level, which had a great kick without overwhelming the flavors or burning my tastebuds. To cool things down, I paired it with a cold chrysanthemum tea, which was refreshing and balanced out the heat perfectly. This location does have limited seating, especially since the second floor is always closed off, so it’s best to come at off-peak times or be prepared for takeout. Service is solid, and they have a self-service kiosk, which makes ordering quick and easy.If you’re in LIC and craving bold, spicy, and comforting food, Xi’an Famous Foods is a must-visit.
June 20 · Phil WLiang pi is alway on point!! I love coming back to xi’ans everytime I visit the states.I got this to go and I was impressed how far this chain has come. Back in the day, they had the sauces in homemade plastic baggies and now they have it all officially packaged!!The liang pi is still delicious- bouncy noodles and the sauce is epic. I’m glad the quality of the food hasn’t gone down since the OG location in flushing.
July 26 · Lisa KA dependable, high-quality, and delectable! XFF is my favorite Chinese restaurant chain in the entire city. Their lamb is always well seasoned and noodles are always just chewy enough. One thing I’ve noticed over the past 3 years, however, is that the “extra spicy” is no longer “extra spicy.” I feel that they have somewhat downgraded on how truly spicy the “extra spicy” is, which is a bummer. But still, it tastes amazing. I wish they’d bring an “extra extra spicy” version now, though, haha.
