Choosing a meal at Xi'an Famous Foods means diving into a menu filled with specialties that have achieved a cult following across New York. While the entire menu is a testament to the bold flavors of Xi'an, several items and offerings stand out as essential choices for first-time visitors or seasoned regulars.
The Hand-Ripped Noodles (Biang Biang Noodles) are the undisputed star of the show. These are available both dry and in soup formats, catering to different preferences. A must-try is the Spicy Cumin Lamb Hand-Ripped Noodles or the soup version, Spicy Cumin Lamb Hand-Ripped Noodles In Soup. The cumin-spiced lamb is a signature flavor that perfectly complements the thick, chewy texture of the noodles. For those who prefer beef, the Spicy & Tingly Beef Muscle Hand-Ripped Noodles offers a similar satisfying heat with a deep, savory broth base. For a classic, comforting option, try the Stewed Pork Hand-Ripped Noodles. The noodles themselves are described by patrons as being "nice and bouncy" with a desirable "chewy texture," and the generous portions ensure a filling meal.
Another foundational dish is the Liang Pi “Cold Skin Noodles” - specifically, the Liang Pi. This dish is perfect for a refreshing and flavorful bite, especially when seeking a cold noodle option with seating and air conditioning on a warm day. It’s often enjoyed with the Spicy Seitan Salad , or you can get the noodles stir-fried with the Stir-Fried Liang-Pi “Cold Skin Noodles”.
The Burgers, which are more akin to savory stuffed flatbreads or rou jia mo, are a quick-bite favorite. The Spicy Cumin Lamb Burger is an excellent companion to the noodles, or a solid small meal on its own, showcasing that distinctive Xi'an spice blend. Alternatively, the Stewed Pork Burger is a classic choice.
Beyond the mains, the restaurant offers delicious Other Specialties and Small plates. The Spicy & Sour Dumplings are highly recommended, coming in varieties like Pork & Cabbage and Lamb . For a refreshing starter, consider one of the Cold Dishes, such as the Spicy Asian Cucumber Salad or the vibrant Tiger Vegetables Salad.
To wash down the spicy flavors, the drink menu features several unique and refreshing teas and sodas. The Chrysanthemum Tea, Hawberry Hibiscus Tea, and Jasmine Tea (Unsweetened) are all available at a great price, providing a refreshing counterpoint to the heat of the noodles. The unique NANJI Orange Soda and NANJI Hawberry Hibiscus Soda also offer a fun, distinctly Asian beverage choice.
Finally, what truly makes Xi'an Famous Foods worth choosing is the experience of flavorful authenticity paired with convenience. The ability to utilize self-ordering kiosks makes the process incredibly efficient, perfect for a quick lunch or dinner. The option to buy the signature XFF Chili Oil & Crisps Jar in various sizes also allows you to bring the core flavor of the restaurant home, a choice that speaks to the dedication to their unique, spicy preparations. The combination of an accessible location, a focused and flavorful menu, and highly efficient service makes this Flushing location a top choice for Chinese comfort food in the New York area.
Whether you're new to the cuisine or a long-time fan, this Xi'an Famous Foods location provides a satisfying, flavorful, and convenient dining experience, offering a true taste of Northwestern China right here in the heart of Queens.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Xi'an Famous Foods is a popular chain of Chinese quick service food, serving up hand pulled noodles and a variety of spicy dishes. The service was efficient and fast, with multiple self ordering kiosks available. There was many customizations available for the meals, as you are able to customize the spice level and any additional toppings. We got a variety of dishes, but tried the pork hand pulled noodles and the lamb hand pulled noodles. Compared to other locations, this one sort of fell flat, but that could be because we lowered the spice level and had less oil. The noodles were nice and bouncy, with the chewy texture, but did feel a bit dry. There wasn't much flavor beyond the spice, and the pork was also a bit dry as well. The portion and price were good, however we'd have to try other things on the menu to see how the flavor is.
August 19 · Nick SWe ordered the A1 and N1 to share. While the flavor was good and refreshing, I’ve had better Liang pi at other restaurants so I wouldn’t say it’s the best. If you’re craving cold noodles and want a restaurant with seating and air conditioning, I would recommend considering this restaurant. They have refreshing drinks such as Hibiscus, Chrysanthemum, and Jasmine tea for 2.95 plus tax also. The location is inside the Tangram mall, so you have many food, drink, and dessert options!
July 30 · MirIf you're craving something spicy, just Google “Xi’an Famous Foods”—there are many branches in New York. The signature sign reads “西安名吃” (Xi’an Famous Foods). The restaurant mainly serves Xi’an-style cuisine, featuring hand-pulled noodles, roujiamo and liangpi. You can choose the level of spiciness based on your preference. The owner recommends going for the spicy option 😋The chili oil is a secret house-made blend of spices that adds a rich and delicious flavor to the food. The hand-pulled noodles are chewy and full of texture. The savory sauce and chili oil coat the noodles, releasing an irresistible aroma!
August 03 · MingGood food and I really appreciate how spicy they make it! Lots of good options at a pretty reasonable price too. The cucumber salad was especially delicious!
August 11 · Chase EThe service was fast, lots of seating. I got the hand pulled spicy cumin lamb noodles and it was so good, the lamb was really flavorful the noodles were chewy and it was all really spicy. The meal was nice and filling. Lots of seating available.
