★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Food was great, its a bit pricey, but its worth it. I had the Hennessy wings meal, Jerk chicken meal, and i had to try the collard greens egg roll...i suggest order before you go. But its worth every penny, am going back, its so much more on the menu.
October 11 · Rob LittleThe food was great. The chicken was fried to perfection. The collard greens was not over salty & had juicy turkey in it, the dirty rice was on point. My only critique would be the catfish was slightly overcooked but it had amazing flavor. Overall id come back to try something else for sure!Just a tip for newcomers. I would order ahead & pickup. The wait was about 25 minutes. Which i didnt mind because that means its fresh! There are no bathrooms & only outdoor seating available for up to 4 people. So keep that in mind if youre coming to eat in person. If I lived in NJ I would definitely be picking up food to go often.
August 29 · JellyI need to go back to try other dishes, but my 1st impression is underwhelming. There has been a lot of hype around this place. The main takeaway from the 3 dishes is that they are under seasoned. My Cajun catfish and sheimp were no close to Cajun. The mac and cheese is the queen of the ball.
August 15 · Maurice Bell"I drove for an hour and 2 minutes to get to this restaurant, and despite being told the wait would be an hour and a half, we were called in after just an hour. Our initial order of sweet chili wings with collard greens and yams was mixed up, and we received mac and cheese instead. Thankfully, they corrected the mistake. The sweet chili wings were flavorful but overly salty. The collard greens and mac and cheese were decent, but the yams were too sweet for my taste. I couldn't finish them. The second order of jerk chicken with mac and cheese and Brussels sprouts didn't fare much better. The jerk chicken was dry and lacked seasoning beyond an outer layer the jerk sauce, which tasted more like hot sauce mixed with vinegar could really improve. The Brussels sprouts were flavorless, although my friend thought they were just okay. The mac and cheese was, again, just okay. The egg rolls stated collard greens and turkey meat 🍖 NO MEAT AT ALL just collards and they were out of the drink uptown’s, so got a lemonade I can’t describe a taste just didn’t care for it.While the counter service was friendly, the experience wasn't worth the long drive. Parking was also very limited. Perhaps with some tweaks to the menu and seasoning, this place could improve."
June 14 · Nicole McKinnonI ordered my food to go as I’m sure everyone does with the limited space. I was not happy with my order at all I ordered two plates of wings both with mac and cheese and candied yams. I had high hopes but was extremely disappointed with what I received. The wings tasted slightly burnt the mac and cheese which I hate to say was way too cheesy. And the yams were hard and not mixed enough as I found a clump of sugar in one of my orders. I just expected more but will give grace as it was in the evening. Maybe we just got them on a bad day. I know it’s viral right now but that should not compromise the quality of the food highly disappointing and would not come again. Glad I did not have to come far to be let down.
