What is Worth Choosing
When it comes to choosing a place to eat in New York City, Abiko Curry stands out for several key reasons. First and foremost is the quality and authenticity of its food. While some might question a Japanese curry spot in Koreatown, Abiko has earned its reputation for serving "great curry" that is both "filling and flavorful." The ability to customize your dish, from the base (rice, noodles, or pasta) to a wide range of toppings and, most importantly, the spice level, is what sets it apart. This level of control over your meal ensures a personalized experience, whether you prefer a mild, comforting plate of curry or a dish that brings a serious kick of heat. The fact that the restaurant offers unique items like the "Cream Curry Pasta" also demonstrates a creative approach that keeps the menu fresh and exciting.
The value Abiko Curry offers is another compelling reason to choose it. In an expensive city like New York, finding a restaurant that provides substantial, high-quality, and reasonably priced food is a major win. The reviewer who noted that "pricing was quite reasonable" confirms that you can get a satisfying and delicious meal without a hefty price tag. The atmosphere, described as "simple," "clean," and "cozy," is perfect for a variety of occasions, from a solo lunch to a gathering with a "large group." The restaurant's efficiency, including fast service and a convenient ordering system, is also a huge plus for those who appreciate a streamlined dining experience. This focus on convenience and comfort makes it an ideal spot for lunch, dinner, or a quick bite between other activities in the city.
Finally, Abiko Curry is worth choosing for its role as a consistent and reliable neighborhood spot. One reviewer mentioned having "milestones celebrated at this spot," which speaks volumes about its role in the community and the positive memories it creates. While one review did compare it to an out-of-state location, the general consensus is that having a New York location is a significant benefit for locals who crave its specific style of curry. The restaurant’s ability to cater to different crowds—from "college students" to "groups" and "tourists"—shows its broad appeal. In a city where dining options are endless, Abiko Curry's combination of delicious, customizable food, reasonable prices, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it a reliable and delightful destination for anyone seeking a taste of authentic Japanese-style curry.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Great curry spot in K-Town. Even though we had a large group, we were able to find seating quickly during peak dinner time. The restaurant has a simple ambiance, nice and clean. We ordered a variety of dishes, including the vegetable curry and vegetable noodle. We picked medium spicy and it was perfect. Very filling and flavorful dishes overall. Service was great and pricing was quite reasonable.
July 30 · Najeeb AbdullahThis is a staple spot. The spice level? The curry? The chicken katsu? On point.I’ve had milestones celebrated at this spot. The NJ location definitely beats this spot (hospitality and spice wise) but glad we have one in NYC, closer to home.
August 10 · Tamanna YousufThe pork curry was disappointing. It was incredibly watery which I wouldn't expect from a regular Japanese curry, and the amount of meat given is much less than what you see in the picture. Unfortunately, I cannot say that the meal was worth the price.
July 09 · Khoi PhamI loved the curry and my husband loved his rice bowl. I asked for an extra spicy meal and the dosage of spiciness was absolutely perfect. The curry was creamy and the vegetables inside perfectly cooked. I couldn’t finish the dish because I wasn’t that hungry but still loved every bite. The service was perfect too and the staff really nice.
February 23 · Joana MaryaKnown this shop since 2019.Haven’t found another curry shop that hits the spot quite like Abiko.Got basic curry with cheese pork cutlet.Serving size is big enough I took about 40% home.11/10 recommend!
