★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1There is no lack of Souvlaki restaurants in NYC, let alone Astoria, but Christos Souvlaki Stand stands out.Your basic choices (as I understand them) are- skewer, sandwich, or platter. Then you choose chicken or pork. While your order is being assembled, a couple of additional questions: hot sauce (say yes, it’s not that hot), BBQ sauce (say yes, it’s not what you think), and “everything”? (Also say yes, as this includes Tatziki, lettuce, onions, and tomatoes.I ordered a fantastic pork souvlaki sandwich (with all of the above). The pork had just the right amount of char and smoke from their natural charcoal, but it was still juicy and tender. The fresh pita became a sponge for all the delicious juice that needed a home before my belly. I had to take it home, but you can see its ample size. In total, I think it was $7!If you need to get on the subway to come here, do it. It’s totally worth it.
September 03 · Scott LaineFresh is an understatement at Christo’s. I always get the pork and chicken souvlaki combo wrapped in pita with everything on it. For $10 it’s just a football sized fantastic deal. These guys do it daily and they do it right. I can’t say enough good things about this souvlaki stand.A must visit when in Astoria area.
May 18 · Jesse YuanVisited Christos Souvlaki Stand in Astoria on my brother's recommendation, and it exceeded expectations. The pork souvlaki was grilled over charcoal to perfection, seasoned with lemon, salt, and pepper, and topped with a flavorful BBQ hot sauce. Enjoyed it right there on the sidewalk—couldn't resist. The prices are very reasonable, making it a must-visit spot for authentic Greek souvlaki in Astoria.
April 18 · George Panagopoulos at Douglas Elliman RealestateI've been eating these shish kabobs and salads for years! They are the best and it was my motivation to cycle 16+ miles from Middle Village on Saturday in the rain!Sorry about the photo, I had already had a bite.😁 IG #wildbitesandcampsites
April 07 · Robinson SotoWent here on Action Bronson’s recommendation and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. The seasoning, lemon juice glaze, and sweet sauce on top of chicken kebab was heavenly. Presented in a neat little bag. Scarfed it down in the middle of the street an Astoria. Very reasonable price. Doesn’t get better than this my friends.
