Church Avenue Grocery Reviews
happy
★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My happy place. This place is a fixture of the neighborhood. I am travelling for a year so I am away from Flatbush at the moment and my fav bodega popped into my head. I realized, to my shock and horror, that have I not left a review for the best bodega in all of Brooklyn!! I will fight anyone in the streets (in front of their mother) who disagrees with that statement. The vibe is always immaculate, I think because they don't sell alcohol or cigarettes just bodega staples. There used to be an older gentleman named Mohammad who would do magic tricks with change and gave the best unsolicited dating advice. I miss him and hope he is well. I frequent this place because everyone is lovely. No one knows my name but they know my order and because of this I have forgiven them for refusing the fudge I made them one year for Christmas. I knew most of the staff was Muslim and didn't celebrate the holiday but I was making fudge for loved ones and this bodega falls under that category. Thank you for providing a safe space and not judging me (to my face, in english) when I come in for emotional support lollipops or fruit by the foot. I miss y'all. I will be back in Nov. You best have my fav sugary nonsense!

December 04 · skye roseWarm inside :) not much space inside the store. Witnessed 1 customer receive a. Coffee that she didn't order and the clerk didn't seem to care after the lady complained about it.No issues during my visit and transactions.
December 22 · EIt was empty when I walked in. Said good morning to the cashier. She ignored me. Picked up a couple of items. Very expensive. Got in line. Said hi to the cashier. Again, she didn't respond. Very rude.
